Why do our processors vary so much?

My blade can overclock to 729Mhz and be completely stable, any higher causes a reboot after heavy usage..

My girlfriends blade which was bought yesterday, I straight away wacked on 2.3 and it overclocks up to 768mhz completely stable and even lasted on 804mhz for about 10 minutes before locking up! scored 1300 on quadrant.

Whereas many other people on the forum struggle to push their processors past the 690mhz mark before they lock up..

So considering they are all the same processor, why do they vary so much in what they can handle? seems odd to me!

Edit: Just realised i posted this in the ROM forum by mistake, someone please move it to the appropriate place! sorry..

Because no CPU come out the same from the wafer. It's the same with the PCs CPUs.

Overclocking is obeying the factory limit of the CPU frequency. On it's factory limit it works like it should. But when you overcome that limit any little manufacturing flaw makes it's effect. The less flaws it got the more it can be oc'ed. Of course overheating comes into way too. Mine for example can be oc'ed to 750Mhz stable! But it starts to overheat after doing cpu hungry stuff
