Guest topek Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 Hi, which one of the latest releases should i take? I had 2 versions of CM7 It's a crap. All the time something it's not working RC1 rebootet my device while using gps NB 127 rebootet my blade after pluging micro usb B into device and sygic navi didn't work properly (graphical problems) So i would to try Stir Fry or Blue Ginger. Which one is more stable and simply (most) of the things works stable? Best regards topek

As for stir fry vs blue ginger, stir fry is by far better. It is alot more developed, and my battery life is great using it.
Guest zasten Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 They are virtually the same (blue ginger is based on sitr fry) but IMHO stir fry is best... That situation is not likely to change until ZTE pulls finger and releases the skate and then the source code for the latest kernel. Projected to occur mid to late august.

The latest CM7 is a good ROM.
Guest alpsp Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 by all means ask the question Topek if you can't be bothered reading through the threads but don't be so rude! CM7 isn't finished and isn't perfect but I suspect it's written by people far more dedicated and talented than either of us! Stir fry for me

Which version do you mean. update-cm-7.0.3-Blade-signed.zip update-cm-7.1.0-RC1-Blade-signed.zip cm_blade_full-138.zip ?? Best regards topek

Guest Psyloid Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Why so? What do you plan to change? I already successfully tweaked ram and cpu, performance is about 30% up compared to stir fry release in a few days
Guest topek Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 wait for blue ginger v5. it will have awesome performance !!! Yeah :) i will try your rom. But now i want to flash latest CM7 becaue its simple flashing for me only cache and dalvaik cache wipe. Without apps installing. Which CM7 should i try now?
Guest k0zmic Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Which CM7 should i try now? Anything that's Nightly 127 or higher IMO. Read the past few pages of the CM7 thread since the nightlies have been a bit buggy recently.

Guest k0zmic Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 (edited) And what about stable versions and not NBuilds? regards topek Well, stable versions only mean the CyanogenMod specific things are stable, not the entire ROM. I recommended the N127 onwards nightlies since they have a new kernel that fixed the libaudio battery drain bug. There's Sej's own build in that thread that's based on N136 with a couple of tweaks, I used for a day or so before trying GSF for comparison's sake, it seemed less power hungry and was generally stable. If I had to choose a stable version then it would be 7.1 RC1 and apply the libaudio fix in the thread (somewhere). Edited July 21, 2011 by k0zmic
Guest slackereconomy Posted July 26, 2011 Report Posted July 26, 2011 the ginge... performance, like the green before it, has always been enough to keep me happy, and i've never downloaded one version and thought "i'm not too keen, i should change" (unlike others i've tried...cm7 i'm looking at you). tried gsf once and my blade threw a fit. probably not gsf's fault, but i can happily recommend blue ginger
Guest kogos Posted July 26, 2011 Report Posted July 26, 2011 I already successfully tweaked ram and cpu, performance is about 30% up compared to stir fry release in a few days 30%??? thats too good to be true,... i hope its true though... we'll see in a few days i guess

CM7 RC x where x is a number - forget about them! Use the latest nightly 146 that is out now - WAYYYY better than the RC. It is in continual development and yes a glitch or two will be there - but hey You're not in a position to judge and say its crap when: 1) The CM7 Team member is a schoolkid (HCDRJacob) who just completed exams (17 going on 18 years old) and is letting his hair down so to speak, and have fun - and also - he aint paid either! and 2) An australian hacker who has a regular 9-5 job and doing this work together with HCDRJacob. So your question/post is not warranted nor fair considering they are not paid to do it and yet devoted their passion/time/energy in getting CM7 onto the blade.

Well said tOmm, I think people need to realise the genius and ingenuity behind all these Roms and projects, show some appreciation for gods sake..... Anyway, having used a few Roms, CM,SS,Froyo,GSF,PS, I think the most stable so far for me has been Portuguese Spring, an excellent Rom tbf. I've had GSF for a week now and its up there with PS but not as stable imo. Plus the notification bar power widget in PS is the winner for me. Im moving onto Blue Ginger to see how that goes and will report back.... Keep up the good work you beautiful geeks :0)
Guest jamesbooth Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 I've used CM7, GSF and Blue Ginger since having my blade and, in my opinions, GSF is head and shoulders above the other two for my needs. However, if you're a gamer or need the extra CPU power for whatever reason, I'd imagine CM7 is a better option. I only use my phone for the basics and download a couple of apps here and there. Therefore, the stability and battery life of GSF win it for me. I did try Blue Ginger but I didn't like the colour scheme and I found the battery to be worse than GSF. However, it's 30% faster so it's expected. The only thing I'd like to see on GSF is the power widget notification bar. Then it would be the perfect ROM. I don't think you can ask a question like this and get a definitive answer. You need to try a variety of ROMs and find one that suits your needs best.
