Messed up trying to change ROM please help

Hi all,

My apolagizes for the stupidity of this post etc, i can only imagine it has been raised several times before, but if you could please over look that and help me out i would be very grateful.

I got my Advent Vega this evening and attempted to change the ROM for the R8 version as listed in here. I couldnt figure out how to do it by extracting the files etc so i saved the zip to my sd card and then went into software update on my tablet and selected the zip folder(Is this wrong?). My tab rebooted and it has now all changed format which at first glance looks much better than before, however now my wifi will not connect and just says error?! it wont let me select connections or anything like that! so i thought i would try and do a factory restore but it seems this is much the same process as changing the ROM and i just dont understand how to do it! If someone could help me it would be great as im mega pissed that my tab is near useless just hours after getting it!

Hey Kev,

So I assume you have installed ClockworkMod recovery on your tablet. From here you can flash any ROM (except VegaComb 1.7, if you don't have the modded stock ROM). To get to the recovery you have to install the app that allows you to do it. You can find it in this thread: http://android.modaco.com/topic/324601-24jan-2518-clockworkmod-for-the-advent-vega/. Just follow the instructions and you should be able to get in there. Before going into the recovery re-download the R8 ROM or any other ROM for the Vega and put it on your SDcard. Then you can wipe the system and reinstall the ROM.

I had some problems in CM7 where I had to disable/enable WiFi once in a while to get it to work. You could also try to set WiFi to always on. Hope this helps you.
