Nope same thing - argh :( " Cant establish a reliable data conenction to the server - this could be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data services " anything else I can try ?? ** Tried appbrain but not sure how to get the appbrain app on the vega,I have signed in via my facebook account and then I keep getting told to go to www.appbrain.com/install but when I do that it just takes me back to the same page ??!! obviously cant d/load any app from there until I actually have the appbrain app itself !! one problem at a time thou !! thanks for your help anyway, if you can think off anything else please do advise !!

This problem has been encountered before so a search should find the solution but I cannot get used to the blooming search on this new website grrrr. Have you added your Gmail account using SETTINGS > ACCOUNTS & SYNC SETTINGS yet and got Auto-sync ticked? If not do that then login to Gmail then try market access again. If that does not work do a Google of "reliable data connection" and you will find loads of people with same problem and suggested fixes. Gotta go offline for a while ;) Edited July 20, 2011 by trevor432990

I had this problem when I first installed Corvus5. Have you installed SP1? If so, here's the really wacky solution that worked for me. Create a new gmail account when you try to get onto the market. There's no logic to this, and it might just have been a coincidence, but I do have access to the market.
Guest IanTurner Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 (edited) You would have to do that anyway as otherwise it will just come back and complain that no device is associated with that account (add the gmail account to be accessed from the device that is) One suggested solution was This still sounds awfully like a location problem to me so can you try one last thing if you haven't already. SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS > DEVELOPMENT > ALLOW MOCK LOCATIONS if that is not ticked then tick it and try Google account set-up again. Also ensure SETTINGS > ACCOUNTS & SYNC > BACKGROUND DATA & AUTO SYNC are both ticked though another person found they had a problem with their router as could add an account at a public hotspot Edited July 20, 2011 by IanTurner

Sorry you haven't fixed it yet I did hit the same problem when I got my Vega but that was ages ago and I can't remember what I did. Another suggestion ... try logging in to Gmail on the Vega then (leaving it loaded) by clicking on HOME icon try going to Android Market again. If that fails you may still need to install a Modaco ROM version which has the Market in it 'before' you install Corvus5 but you'd need to check the Corvus5 instructions for advice on that but that would explain your problem as I don't believe the kernel Advent supply with the Vega has Market installed. Edited July 20, 2011 by trevor432990
Guest jono4001 Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Hi there, as always thanks again for your continued support into trying to get to the bottom off all this !! Tried that but if I try to log onto my gmail account I get the same error message as the market itself !! I know my account is deffinatly set correctly up because I can go into it within my other pc. Another forum member who very kindly set this up for me is going to re install the ROM gain in the hope that it may fix the few problems. would still be interested to find out why both gmail and the market are both giving me this same error message thou ??
Guest Vansphone Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 I had and sometimes still have a similar Market problem. It happens when I cannot connect to WiFi. I guess this is not very helpful, but I leave the comments just in case.

As I said in a previous post, I got the same error trying to access the market when I first installed Corvus 5. I also couldn't access my existing gmail account from Corvus 5 without SP1. However, I had previously been accessing the market using that account on MCR8. I gained market access by creating a new account. Now, with SP1, I am able to access both gmail accounts.

I don't think so. I think the messages are genuine, and guess its related to the comunal nature of Android sites. Although I've never had a problem visiting those sites, I always think twice.
