No display, makes noises and red light comes on

I have genuinely searched the forum but cannot seem to find my exact problem.

I checked my phone randomly today and the screen was blank, the backlight came on and turns off by pressing the on/off button, but there is no response from the screen.

After turning the phone off, again the same, no display. The backlight comes on and the back button lights up as red, but nothing else. After what is normal loading time i get a tone through which when working says "sd card mounted". I am also alble to receive texts and calls, it is simply a display issue. Can anyone help???

I suppose you've tried removing the battery and or a factory reset?

what ROM are you using? Can you get nto clockworkmod?

Hi, yes ive tried removing the battery. How do I do a factory reset?

Is a clockwork mod whereby you hold down vol - on startup, ive tried but basically nothing displays.

Its the fillydonk rom, i updated the phone 6 months ago from brand new, and hitherto have had no problems

Hi, if anyone could give me a step by step process by using the buttons i would be immensely grateful. I am quite sure the phone is working as it should be, but i cannot see what is going on as there is no display showing. I kniow you can activate recovery mode by pressing the vol up/down buttons etc, if someone could give me a step by step guide i would be indebted to them

Assuming you are using clockworkmod 3.2.0.7 (Its likely the same for other versions, :

start phone with volume down held

wait a minute or so for clockworkmod to load

press volume down 2 times (if it doesn't work, try it with 1-4 times)

press home once

press volume down 7 times

press home

take out battery and restart
