Ok so i am looking into buying a blade but had a few questions before i did:

Is the only difference between the generations the screen?

When was the gen 1 stopped being made and the gen 2 started to be made?

you're all confused

Gen2 devices started being made early this year. Many carriers still sell Gen1 devices though (eg Orange UK). It is possible to change from Gen1 to Gen2 and vice versa.

The screen has nothing to do with Gen1/Gen2. Very early Blades had an OLED screen, while all recent ones have a TFT screen.

Ah, i understand now but what is the difference between gen 1 & 2 just different firmware? and are there any limitations for either?

different firmware yes. no major differences - all you need to know is that ROMs are only compatible with one fo them.
