Guest almighty15 Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 I've been slowly removing all the added crapware that's on these custom ROM's as I don't like any of it. I ideally would like a 2.3.4 ROM with nothing but the STOCK 2.3.4 apps installed with the STOCK 2.3.4 launcher. Currently running a stripped Stir Fry beta 14 as I think Stir Fry's 2.3.4 ROM is by far the best. Would also like to have the half circle unlock like CM7 does? Thanks Anthony
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 I dont get whats wrong with stirrping down gsf? You can directly remove apps form the rom in its zip file in /system/app that you dont want. The "half circle unlock" is not a gingerbread thing, and therefore won't be included in a stock gingerbread ROM ;)

Guest k0zmic Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 (edited) I made a stripped down version if you want it, I removed: Bootanimation, File Manager, FM Radio, GenieWidget, GMail, Maps, YouTube, Street View, HTML Viewer, Google Search Box, Music (Because it's just ghastly), Reboot and Arabic, Hebrew & Thai Fonts. Swapped the Launcher2 for another version of Launcher2 which feels a tiny bit quicker. It's Wbaw's GSF B15: http://www.wuala.com...5-Stripped.zip/ No themes. I haven't tested it. If you want to add, remove or swap stuff just place what you need into the folder e.g. /system/app before install with 7-Zip etc. Edited July 22, 2011 by k0zmic
Guest Geree Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Have you tried Burstlam's Gingerbread leak version? I think this is the closest to the stock version...and the most stable 2.3.4 so far...
Guest danieljtmcleod1989 Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Ah.... So how do I get it on then? There's an app in the market called "lockbot free" which lets you use the rotary lock screen. I know its not exactly a stock option, but its the only simple solution that I know of.

What do you meen by the most stable? From what I've just seen about it there's so many things broken in it.
Guest TouchyAndalou Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Arabic, Hebrew & Thai Fonts. How do you remove these fonts? Thanks.
Guest k0zmic Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 How do you remove these fonts? Thanks. /system/fonts - delete whatever you don't need with ES File Explorer/Root Explorer or 7-Zip/WinRAR before flashing a ROM.

Other than the fact that you need to calibrate the proximity sensor I wouldn't say its all that buggy. (At least none that affect me).

Guest p1ko Posted July 26, 2011 Report Posted July 26, 2011 has anyone tried the stripped down GSF B15?
Guest unrandomsam Posted July 26, 2011 Report Posted July 26, 2011 Anyone can try what I am using if they wish its a 140MB /system TPT hungarian 2.2.2 amss.mbn / libloc / libloc-rpc only gapps / Market Enabler added XT9 keyboard removed. (I use market enabler set to t-mobile USA to download the new google music app). Very conservative GPS settings but 100% reliable. (If I enable AGPS google maps / maps navigation is fine but breaks standalone GPS apps). If the usb debugging icon is broken do a wipe from clockworkmod (Or don't bother). Market enabler built from r67 of http://market-enabler.googlecode.com/svn/trunk ftp://91.216.93.137/gb_stock_image.zip http://91.216.93.137/gb_stock_image.zip http://www.multiupload.com/D4T7O7XI5Q Its necessary to dial *983*0# and then press sensor then press calibrate (Until it seems to be working right you can just about see it (when its right will say yes only when you touch it to your face). If you want to use AOSP Contacts / Deskclock do it after you have calibrated the proximity sensor. Credit to Burstlam (For the build this is based on). CM7 (For the GPSSHIM code used). Len Ash (For the last brightness fixed framework-res.apk that I use) wbaw for the original tpt (used v7b changed splash back to stock and added the new amss.mbn / amsshd.mbn)
