Yea, hi!

Long time reader, first post so here it goes.

I have searched the web and on the forum for like a week now, i tried all kinds of stuff but got nothing to work. I know that there are plenty of bricked threads, sorry for that. This is like a last resort.

My blade just boots in to blank(black) screen and the battery indicator lights up. thats it. Dont know what do to really. I can see that the mobile is on though.

I have done a TPT-with a recovery rom (like 18 mb) that supposes to take me to clockworkmod but no, tried with gen2 and gen1. Dont know really what kind of gen ive got.

Tried to blindy move around in Clockwork starting the phone with volume - with the help of a youtube video.

Even tried starting it with volume +. nada.

Switched battery/sdcard/sim.

I wont get in at the FTM-mode, cant get in clockwork with fastboot, even though it seems to work and it got some kind of connection but it just wont boot to clockwork.

Help please?

There's a thread with "Ginger Stir Fry Beta 15 Gen1 to Gen2 Upgrade TPT" should i try that one?

Or can i try to wipe data now? shouldnt it make things worse?

Have a nice day !

AL

none of those will fix a totally blank screen. your phone is broken & you should find out if you can get a replacement.

How come its broken? manufactured error or flash error?

What ive read is that the phone is completely broken if there is no sign of life. But now, the backlight lights up and it seems to boot.

I'd be surprised if you can fix it, but method 5 is your only hope I think. If it doesn't get your screen to work after flashing, then forget restoring IMEI - its broken.

It sounds like a hardware problem, possibly a manufacturing defect, if you dont even see the green android splash screen. Either the display is dead, or the connection to it is.

If the problem didn't occur immediately after re-flashing it, then it's not likely to be caused by flashing it & therefore can't be fixed by flashing it again. Is it a new phone? Did it just happen randomly, or was it after a bad flash?

If it is hardware, then there isn't any kind of software flash that you could do to fix it, you should either return the phone for a refund or replacement (if you can) or find somebody who's very good at fixing things with a soldering iron.

The screen on my Blade failed a month or two back, just had a strip of screen displayed down the right hand side. The phone was working but wasn't any use cos the screen was only a 3mm strip. One minute my screen was fine and the next time I pressed the power button it was broken.

Anyway I bought a second one as I didn't think the warrenty was valid after installing a Japanese Jelly Fish ROM . Today the display on the second one has gone in a very similar way, this time a 1mm strip on the left and a 4mm strip on the right. I bought my phones from two different suppliers Pay.com and Argos month apart and figure if I can get the same type of failure twice there must be hundreds of people out there with the same problem but almost nothing on the forums.

The only good news was that I got my original phone repaired under warranty, but at the cost of £17 postage and I am going to send my second one back now for another £17.

I think your screen is broken like mine but you don't get the few mm of display still showing.
