Guest South1 Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 Hi as the title says really, i have installed R8 (thanks for the help peep's), Flash player works a treat and have installed me a few apps. So what next?? Any pointers/ recommendations would be really appreciated , what are the must have apps?? whats the best way of customising your vega home screen/layout etc. what looks really cool. Any advice on how to give the battery a helping hand? And do i/we need to be using any anti virus software ( hadn't even thought about that untill just now, if so what do you recommend i use?) Whats considered the best music player for the vega??? sorry i now this is a daft amount of questions but i need to know!!! Lastly which case do people use am thinking leather wrap around type that doubles as a stand, had read somewhere the Advent ones are crap and not very good at doing their job! Cheers in advance B)

Cheers in advance B) about the customization, launcher pro and Vtl launcher r very gd. Vtl has lots of customization. to many apps to think of, will come bk to that... ;) always close apps to save battery, keep the brightness low. ( advanced task killer helps kill apps that r running in the background) music players i dont know, i just use the stock :L the advent case is not great, wuldnt reccomend it, check out ebay, and most 10 inch cases work on the vega, inlucidng some ipad ones i think :) any questions ask hav fun.

Guest rose840 Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 There is a newer version of the advent case that i have purchased... it has a flap on the inner side that goes under the vega and stops it from slipping out im using it and love it... i had the choice of the 2 in the nottingham store.. seems to be made of thicker leather too... think it is supposed to be more expensive (hence the 2 prices on pcworld website) but i reserved at the cheaper price and picked it myself in store :)

They do indeed recommend not using task killers but I have to say, certain apps like BBC iPlayer seem to start up automatically on my Vega (r8) and I can't understand why? Mind you - I don't understand MUCH about Android yet! ;-) In that respect I'm thinking of using one.

Rather than using the iPlayer app, why not just set your browser user agent to desktop, then browse to the iPlayer site to get the full quality iPlayer experience?
