Gingerbread Update this week!! Possibly Today/Friday!!

Hopefully, Gingy for our x10 is going to be out by this week (most probably by Friday for Europe according to unknown13x [xda] ), the moment we all have been waiting for

The countdown begins, almost time to start flashing 2.1 eclair to get the update. :)

I'm hoping to get 16m colours.

Trip have said before, that HE have got an EMMA account.

therefore, If any release will come out, Trip and us will have it. but this is strange, that this is not at EMMA...

nice news.... but i know SE will do something again to disappoint everyone.... no dualtouch seems a joke now.... they are too intelligent in marketing but forgetting that they r loosing their customers. The only reason people buy their phone is bcoz of it's looks. but nowadays other companies are even making good looking phones.

Anyways , let's see what's coming. At least we will have fully working custom GB rom with good camera... Just cant wait for that.. I am sure i wont be able to use SE's crappy rom for long time.

I am trying to update but the PC companion download page is down...

Something is fishy.

They must be updating that page. The same page came months ago when i tried to open xperia pages when they were updating those pages for Arc, Neo and Play...

Download this : Sony Ericsson PC Companion 2.01.123 .

Install it, when it launches it should automatically update to the latest version.

Looks like the latest version advertised on SE page is not ready yet.

I connected my phone to pc compagnion now and it avised me that there is a new sofware for my phone. Its not the ginger bread but an eclair. On the romanian website it tells that the gingerbread is here and to update the phone through Pc compagnion. ill update this post if ill get the gingerbread after this update.

well, if you update to official gb relase :D then phone will not be rooted, if you flash some custom gb rom then will be rooted

okay, damn.. will it still be able to get rooted again, or is it possible that they could of somehow blocked it?

Chances are that it wont be rootable once the firmware is updated, but hopefully there will be a ftf for flashtool so it wouldn't matter

If you want The official update by SEUS back to stock 2.1 unrooted with SEUS otherwise when update release you cant update your rooted phone to 2.3.3 by SEUS you`ve update with flashtool ..

You need to have the stock 2.1 and update with seus

Im concerned that what Im finding is that att users will not get the update, so if I just flash some generic unbranded 2.1 with flashtool Im hoping that gives my the go on SEUS for 2.3. It will be great if someone could clarify this situation a bit.
