Guest Ximo F. Verde Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) So after a couple of months of struggling with a repeating reboot when i was using gps, i decided to send the phone to acer since it was still on warranty. Today it came back, all repaired but theres a couple of things i dont get.. 1st of all, they didnt only replace the mainboard of the phone (using a MB.H4800.009 unit) they also repaired the upper part (?) of the touchscreen (part 60.H480W.009) even though i didnt ask for it (The display had a very small black leak on the bottom left corner). Thats obviously very nice of them to say the least.. I also noticed that the phone's ROM is now Acer_LiquidE_2.100.27_EMEA_CUS1 and in system info i only have one reading: RAM 512MB. I downloaded Android System Info app and i get the pretty amazing reading on RAM: Max: 433MB Free: 229. Can somebody with a bit deeper knowledge on the issue tell me if Android System Info is simply reading the ammount of RAM from the OS settings or do i really have 512MB on my system? Did my A1 just turned into a E??? Thanx EDIT: Get the same results with Quick System Info. RAM Total: 433MB, Free: 221MB, Idle: 124MB EDIT2: I also noticed that the mainboard acer used as a replacement doesnt exist in the spare part list of the Liquid A1 service guide found here .. hmm EDIT3: Holy cow i think i got it.. in zandparts.com, where one can find all spare parts for acer's phones, my new mainboard is listed not under S100 parts (which only has MB.H4800.001) but under S100E (Liquid E)! I think i just got seriously upgraded.. If somebody can comment or confirm it would be very welcome Edited July 27, 2011 by Ximo F. Verde
Guest Dario93 Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 It's definetely a Liquid E. There's no way to show MBytes of RAM that doesn't physically exist in the device! On the contrary, with a modded kernel,on a Liquid E it's possible to make only a part of the RAM available, like it was on phh's kernel before koudelka's,roggin's and thepasto's additions :) The phone infos in fact would show only the amount of RAM you decided to make available. But on Liquid A1,the opposite operation isn't possible,so,yes, you're a lucky man :P

I guess i should flash the 4.002.14.EMEA.GEN1_A22F_A for LiquidE now and not the A1, isnt this correct?

You're welcome! ^_^ Right,the LiquidE one :) Moreover,if flashing 4.002.14 for Liquid E goes straight,you'll be sure your device is the E version :)
