Your friend's ZTE Blade actually belongs to T-Mobile, he's effectively bought a stolen phone & should report the seller to your local police.

how's it locked?

as in the phone is networked locked?

PUK locked?

or completedly barred? i.e the phone has been reported stolen and t-mobile have locked it down?

if the latter... then as wbaw sez you should report the seller to the police.

I have a similar problem. I don't know the history of the phone, it was bought on ebay for parts ... but ended up fixing it instead by replacing the faulty SIM card holder. It had SS 2.2 I think, but have since tried CM 7.1.0 RC1-Blade.

Problem is I can't call out or receive even with the emergency number. Tried all Mobile Network combinations, I'm new to the android scene, this is my first ... it could be something as simple as ABC ... but any help would be appreciated. My SIM card T-mobile PAYG shows 4 bars, in green with or without WiFi, but dial "150" shows mobile network not available, then call ended. "112" shows out of service area. I'm not sure whether what I need to do next is "activate" the phone, although IMEI check shows ok.

Info about the phone; baseband p729bb01, android version 2.3.4; kernel 2.6.32-perf tom@TomaComputer #28

other status info on SIM is everything is ok apart from no number shows in My phone number; and under service status it says out of service.

Thanks again in advance
