Receiving Viber Texts When Phone Is Alseep

How do i make Viber receive text messages, clearly when the phone is in sleep mode it shuts all data connections down. I have tasker i'm just not very good with it can i make it wake the phone say every 20mins to check messages, would this be bad for battery life?

When you say 'Sleep Mode' do you mean the screen is off or the whole phone is off?

I always get my messages when the screen is off...

Screen is off, when my screen is off the data connections are shut down, but sometimes i'll receive and email notification (so maybe they aren't) but my friend was messaging me on viber and they didn't come through till i turnt my screen on, even left it with the screen off a few mins after they sent the message

Battery fu or green power will connect your data connection every x minutes.

Doesn't matter this thread can be closed. Issue is non occurring just seems i didn't wait long enough. Seems like it checks every 10mins or so.
