Arggh!!! Blade and I are not seeing eye to eye.. :(

Hi Guys,

Wonder if any of ya can help me, but from what I have read, it seems a hardware fault... :( Just my luck, I will be on my 3rd Blade now since Xmas....

1st one took a rather nasty knock, well, chip... however a friend bought it off me, knowing the damage...

This one, my second one... USB Cable died after I grabbed it (like ya would any other cable) and now it seems my camera has died... :(

Looking at forums, it seems to suggest hardware, that AutoFocus is jammed... (although not sure if an App caused this) however, when taking a photo it locks up now.

And when you try and enter Camera App after it freezes you get....

Cannot connect to Camera

Interesting enough, Exilr (diags app) when camera has crashed and you select Camera from the menu, it just shows "More Info, OK"

However, if ya click on Camera from menu before crash, it shows you detailed info of what the camera can do....

Help?????? (please)

Additional, I have reflashed the latest CM7 over the top of the existing one... all that did was allow me to enter the Camera App, but as soon as go to take a picture is freezes again...

Have wiped all the settings, everywhere, and reflashed CM7 latest and still freezes..... :(

Currently trying Stock Orange firmware, however have a feeling that will be the same :(

flash a stock blade rom and post back if camera is ok. HTC Dream had such problem with CM builds, I dont know if Blade has it too. You must flash a stock ZTE rom and post back if camera is working

Yes, flashed back Orange Stock B10 (via CWM) and is still the same... :(

Currently preparing the phone to take back today :(

How do you do TPT Restore? and does TPT work on B10 firmwares? Also, is there a newer model now, B20, what does that change, new screen?

Hi All,

Ok, update on situ.... took phone to Orange. They sat me on other end of a phone to "Orange Support, in India... could not understand the fella.."

They are arranging to send me a second hand/refurb front part (I have to keep the battery, sim, sd, cables, well.... everything other than the screen).

Im sure thats not right to send out jus a screen, and a second hand one at that, surely should jus have a new replacement?

Anyway, I am gonna send it back to them with Stock Orange via ClockworkMod as TPT doesnt work on my phone...

Ok, just to let you know all know. I recieved my replacement (front panel) from Orange... and I am not overally happy to be honest. They said it would be a refurbed part (but like new??) and I have noticed part of the silver on the buttons as worn off. The case doesnt click when ya put it back on/off... and doesnt fit overally well either.

I expected as the phone was faulty, a certain level of customer service. And so if I get a "Customer Satisfaction" survey, I shall marking Orange down... as expected better really... Might go back into shop and ask for a discount off the phone, as I basically paid for a second hand unit!!! :( lol

wow thats a rip off. If the phone was still in warranty, why did they replace it with a refurb part? And your Blade is TFT, so just install corresponding TPT upgrade as ur GEN1/2. (flash stock firmware first, then Orange stock TPT firmware)

Anyway, You must tell them off that u need a replacement for your NEW BOUGHT PHONE, not some scrapped and bruised refurb junk.

And yeah, its always the flex cable which connects the camera module, the LCD module to your Blade.

Is your phone working correctly now or still u have the same problem? Have u replaced ur Wall charger? I think there is some kinda over surge from charger thats why u crapped 3 Blades in a row.

Yeah, I was not happy when he phoned up Customer Services... I thought surely (and hearing about others getting replacements) that they do it all in store. I asked the guy on phone, is this a refurb or brand new, he said refurb...? I asked him why, and said I dont want it if its got scratches or marks... he said No, the are advertised or sold as refurbs but are often brand new. When it arrived today, I looked around it when Courrier was there, and could see nowt wrong. Then not long after he left, I noticed buttons had some scuffs/fading... :(

I too, wasnt expecting a refurb either, as it wasnt my fault the camera died, surely I paid for new so expect new? I had a similar problem when I bought a TV 10yrs ago, sound packed up within 2x weeks, yet the lady tried to book an engineer to visit, that all went wrong, and I got shirty and said I wanted a brand new TV, why have to have it repair within 2x weeks??? lol

Anyway, phone works fine now camera wise, still checking rest of it out... for any other marks and stuff.. (not taken screen protector off yet... had little time) But yeah disatified, and I hope I will be hearing from them soon as to how well they done, as they will certainly hear about me!!!!!!!!!! lol

Couldnt get the TPT to work, but then I couldnt find very in depth instructions so just guessed from mashed up instructions but clearly that didnt work. Still, they took it anyway... lol

1st Phone, was my fault I replaced it, as I dropped it (trying to do a fav for folks, and by accident dropped the phone... and so wanted it like new again, so sold it)

2nd Phone, cable got bent/damaged, when a work mate wanted a favour, and I rushed and nearly dropped the phone, grabbed it but cable kinda got nudged.. but was enough to damage it :( and then the camera broke....

3rd Phone, this 2nd hand refurb junk... :( Still not happy, so if I dont hear from them, they will hear from me.... Grrrrr

Phone is working fine now, just annoyed as I know those scuffs are there...
