Need HTC IME MOD for Gingerbread Stir Fry

Hi Guys,

I just upgraded from a Modaco 2.2 rom to the gingerbread stir fry rom. The improvement is very noticeable but I miss the HTC IME mod that was on there as I find typing with the phone keypad much quicker. I tried using the 2.2 mod but it didnt work. Could someone please provide me with the 2.3 version of the mod?

It works fine with me. You should install it after installing the ROM though, otherwise it will FC.

I gave up with the HTC IME Mod. Everytime I had the odd glitch with the phone or the latin dictionary that would somehow fubar the HTC IME

Through luck - I found a program that offers the exactly the same as the HTC IME - It's called Smart Keyboard Pro. I could never get the T9 that offers the HTC IME phone pad to work in the trial version. So I ended up just buying the Pro version. It is worth buying actually for that Phone pad alone and the additional dictionary settings and choosing the skin to look like a HTC IME...

Download that and the English Keyboard for it to work - When installed - Go into settings - Go into General Settings - Click on Portrait Mode - Click On T9

Go back into General Settings - Click on Select Skin - Scroll down and Click on HTC

The rest of the settings you can choose yourself...

For me personally I have found it to be worth £1.75. It's faster and smoother than the HTC IME and I have less grief and the additional dictionary and custom auto text in entering my own text short cuts is a time save... EG in text prediction I have typed in b4 (to change into ) before... etc etc.. didnt - didn't you get the gist... Just those little time savers that saves me having to type out all those words and much longer ones.

The standard gingerbread one is fine 0.o but if you HTC desire (see what I did there ;D) the HTC IME then get the smart keyboard.

@FezzFast - I had two versions of the apk. None of them worked.

@travellerscross - I can empathise with you there. I have also had some or the other annoyance with the htc ime mod. Its actually not as good as the actual version on the HTC phone in terms of layout and learning, unlike my sony ericcson w810 where the T9 system would learn and suggest words accordingly. I will try the keyboard pro and see how it is. Thanks for the suggestion :)

@Thermal Droid - It is ok in landscape mode but i prefer potrait. I find it to be much quicker and easier to type with T9. Less touches and moving fingers around for a word.

hi search for file HTC_IME_hi22.apk and Clicker.apk for me works fine since beta4 stir fry
