Guest Titas Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 OK - I'm a noob so maybe not the best person to advise but first of all take some pain killers & don't panic - it's probably not as bad as you think! Did you check the MD sum on the download? I'm guessing it could be corrupted in which case you would need to download again to PC & copy it across to the SD card then try flashing that. If that doesn't do the trick I'd go for a TPT (Total Phone Transfer) - this could make your headache worst but it should have a solution http://android.modaco.com/topic/343587-guide-de-bricking-a-zte-blade/ A bad combination , bought my first ever Android phone ,opened a large 6 pack of beers , thought I would try a few things out ( tinkering ) and made a complete mess of it . now have a thumping head , and my lovely new phone refuses to boot up ( only the Green Android logo flashes on and off ) . Guest hedgepigdaniel Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 The problem is that cyanogenmod 7.0.3 is designed for Generation 2 blades, and will not run on Generation 1 blades like yours until you upgrade it to Generation 2. The easiest way to solve your problem and get cyanogenmod installed is to install the CyanogenMod 7.1 RC1 Gen1 to Gen2 Upgrade TPT from here. This will upgrade your phone to Generation 2 and install (a better and more recent) version of cyanogenmod.

Power down the phone. Pull out the battery. Power on the phone with the keys volume up + menu + power. wait the processes end.

Guest hedgepigdaniel Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 also if you want to install cyanogenmod, It will be easier for you to download the all in one TPT from the link I gave, rather than this one you are installing. With the files in your screenshot you will have to install a ROM seperately.

Power off, wait a few seconds, then power on with menu & vol+ held. It should take a few seconds to flash the new Gen2 firmware (you should see some green text), then it should reboot into ClockworkMod recovery, use that to wipe data & then install your Gen2 rom. this below is my sdcard with the above zip file un packed ..... then it just showed Aborted again, I know there must be some thing I am still doing wrong, may be its time to open the beer again :(
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 try just vol up + power (no menu)
Guest irishpancake Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 To install: Unzip the file to the root of your sdcard, it will create an 'image' folder. (Either of the files shown below the line, depending on your preference) Check the integrity of the files using AFV (available from android market) (click the link) to find the nandroid.md5 file in the image directory, then long press on it & verify nandroid backup. Turn off your phone, leave it for at least 30 seconds, then hold menu & volume + when you power it on. You should see some green text (may be just a blank screen) then it should reboot & you should see a big android while it is performing it's first boot (this will take a while). Once it has successfully started up don't forget to delete the image folder on your sd card, to prevent any accidents. ======================================================================================================================================= Ginger Stir Fry Beta 17 Gen1 to Gen2 Upgrade TPT Download: gsf-blade-b17-tpt.zip mirror mirror mirror mirror Download size: 101.07mb MD5: 748aa3fe808f693ac4c24bf8ad26cecf SHA1: 3d278e3b7ff6e00853a97f55ddcc4c2447f2a6ee CyanogenMod 7.1 RC1 Gen1 to Gen2 Upgrade TPT Download: cm-7.1.0-RC1-Blade-TPT.zip mirror mirror Download size: 104.48mb MD5: 4e7a35b4485bf0296ba57c1f4730c4e3 You should do what it says above....... personally, I would go for the Ginger Stir Fry, rather than Cyanogen..... In you examples above, you have just downloaded the Gen1-Gen2 TpT, without ROM, both times.....or so it looks. Hope this helps!!!

Thanks a lot guys the help is really appreciated I thought as CyanogenMod 7.0.3 Blade was for Gen 2 phones I would try and install the original CyanogenMod 7.0.0 Blade as this was on my phone from the start so this is what I did .......... 1 Downloaded CyanogenMod-7.0.0-blade-signed.zip 2 Transferred the downloaded zip file over to to the phones SD card 3 Booted into ClockwokMod Recovery v.3.0.0.6 ( Volume - hold power button ) 4 Wipe data/factory reset 5 Wipe cache partition 6 Advance 7 Wipe Dalvik cache 8 Key Test 9 Install zip from sdcard 10 Choose zip from sdcard 11 pick zip - CyanogenMod-7.0.0-blade-signed.zip 12. Install - CyanogenMod-7.0.0-blade-signed.zip This time I got this .. Install From sdcard complete then i hit the back button then i hit reboot system now The phone rebooted once and then a large Green Android logo came on screen ( before this Green Logo has been smaller ) , and stayed there , not going any further . next I tried this ...... 1 Downloaded gsf-blade-b17-tpt.zip ( Ginger Stir Fry Beta 17 Gen1 to Gen2 Upgrade TPT ) 2 Transferred the downloaded zip file over to to the phones SD card 3 Booted into ClockwokMod Recovery v.3.0.0.6 ( Volume - hold power button ) 4 Wipe data/factory reset 5 Wipe cache partition 6 Advance 7 Wipe Dalvik cache 8 Key Test 9 Install zip from sdcard 10 Choose zip from sdcard 11 pick zip - gsf-blade-b17-tpt.zip 12. Install - gsf-blade-b17-tpt.zip This time it showed this .......... Finding Update package Opening Update package Installing Update Installation Aborted so I downloaded a new gsf-blade-b17-tpt.zip from another mirror , and tried once more and still got the same ..... Finding Update package Opening Update package Installing Update Installation Aborted this is a shot of my current sdcard .... One other thing that i don't understand is how do I do this ....... Check the integrity of the files using AFV (available from android market) (click the link) to find the nandroid.md5 file in the image directory, then long press on it & verify nandroid backup. when I can only boot into ClockwokMod Recovery ? so at the moment the phones back on the coffee table as a paper weight , and ive learnt my lesson about tinkering , again any one have an idea where I am going wrong :(
Guest hedgepigdaniel Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 go to the TPT thread and read the instructions, carefully. You do not install a TPT in clockworkmod - that's why the installations aborts. you put the "image" folder on your SD card, turn your phone off, and turn it on with menu and volume up held down. clockworkmod is not involved. Just do what I said - follow the instructions and install the cyanogenmod 7.1 RC1 TPT. that is all you have to do.

Hi thanks again ( you must be getting cheesed off with me - sorry :( ) ok here's a screen shot of what ive got on my sdcard ........ Then I followed these instructions ........ Instructions Copy a Gen2 rom zip file to your sd card ready to install. Check the md5sum of that against the source (you can use AFV for this). Unzip this Gen2 TPT zip file to your sd card, it should create an image directory. Check the nandroid.md5 file in the image directory on your sd card using AFV on your phone (long press on nandroid.md5 file, then Verify Nandroid Backup) Power off, wait a few seconds, then power on with menu & vol+ held. It should take a few seconds to flash the new Gen2 firmware (you should see some green text), then it should reboot into ClockworkMod recovery, use that to wipe data & then install your Gen2 rom. then ............. no writing comes on screen , it just shows this large Android logo ( below ) straight away and nothing more happens its just does not reboot , only stays on the logo :( I must be going crazy some where  I seem to be cursed , not sure where to go from here ?
Guest hedgepigdaniel Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 the TPT needs to be in a folder called image on the root of the sd card, not in a folder called image within another folder called something else. there should be a folder called "image" at the top level of your SD card. You are still using the custom one - You should use the all in one cyanogenmod 7.1 RC1 TPT: CyanogenMod 7.1 RC1 Gen1 to Gen2 Upgrade TPT Download: cm-7.1.0-RC1-Blade-TPT.zip mirror mirror Download size: 104.48mb MD5: 4e7a35b4485bf0296ba57c1f4730c4e3 make sure you unzip the "image" folder to the root of your SD card, then power on with menu and volume up held.

Just a heads up, make sure you delete that \image folder on your SD.....to avoid accidental TPT again......... It will wipe your phone with a reinstall if you don't......in the event of booting with the volume + Accidents can happen
