Guest bennebiest Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 I need to flash the original (Mobistar) stock ROM because I need to return my Blade for warranty. Originally my Blade was a Gen1 model. Currently I'm on SS5, because is supports gen1 & gen2, Mr Pig mr Fish says my Blade is gen2. I upgraded to gen2 with CM7's TPT method, so all I need is Gen2-to-Gen1-TPT-v2-stock.zip, right? But when 'm running Gen2-to-Gen1-TPT-v2-stock.zip using ClockworkMod Recovery v 3.0.1.4; it fails with error message "Installation aborted." -- Installing: /sdcard/Blade/Gen2-to-Gen1-TPT-v2-stock.zip Finding update package... Opening update package... Installing update... Installation aborted. I redownload Gen2-to-Gen1-TPT-v2-stock.zip, but no luck. Can someone help me please? I want to revert to gen1 and install the Mobistar stock ROM I downloaded. Thanks.
Guest k0zmic Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 You don't flash it with Clockwork. You do the same steps you did to carry out the Gen 1 to Gen 2 upgrade with the Gen 2 to Gen 1 downgrade, i.e. image folder on the SD Card and Vol + and power I believe.
Guest bennebiest Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 Oeps, I didn't know that. Thx! I've done it this way, but my phone boots into Android. I extracted Gen2-to-Gen1-TPT-v2-stock.zip using 7-Zip into sdcard\image folder: http://esense.be/tempfiles/blade_Going_back_to_gen1.png I'm pushing the Volume Up while booting (booting into clockwork with volume down works well!). Do you guys have a clue?
Guest Amphoras Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 (edited) Try holding menu and vol+ then press the power button. You might need to hold them for a few seconds as well if you aren't already. Edit: It may also have worked already and just gone quickly so you didn't see it. If nothing happens when you try it again, try flashing Swedish Spring with Clockwork (it works on Gen 1 and Gen 2) and then use Mr Pigfish to check if the TPT has worked. If it has then you can install the stock rom. Edited July 30, 2011 by Amphoras
Guest bennebiest Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 Holding the menu button didn't work. I'm holing the buttons for some seconds, as long as Android is booting up. I used another sdcard (2gig), reformatted the card and copied only the /image folder. But I'm still unable to boot with power and volume up keys pressed.
Guest Richard_Arkless Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 (edited) Make sure it is fully charged and is unplugged from the charger/pc Take out the battery to make sure it is fully off then put it in then follow these steps exactly. hold the up and menu and then turn it on while still holding those buttons, it should then come up If not then re-download it to make sure it isn't corrupt and it is also advised that you check the md5 Edited July 30, 2011 by Richard_Arkless
Guest bennebiest Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 (edited) Thanks to all for the help so far! It's frustrating, I did exactly what you guys said, but my Blade keeps booting into Android. Mr Pigfish says it's gen2, still (I'm on SS5). I reformatted my sdcard, this time with clockworkmod. Extracted Gen2-to-Gen1-TPT-v2-stock.zip again in \sdcard\image. Verified with a file explorer that the \image folder exists. MD5 hash of Gen2-to-Gen1-TPT-v2-stock.zip is OK. Also verified checksum of nandroid.md5 with AFV (Verify Nandroid Backup). Phone is fully charged and disconnected from charger/computer. Pull battery for at least 30 seconds. Hold Volume Up and Menu button, hit Power .. still holding Volume Up and Menu ... boots into Android :'( Edited August 3, 2011 by bennebiest
Guest AdrianoPL Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Extracted Gen2-to-Gen1-TPT-v2-stock.zip again in \sdcard\image. Just to be sure, Gen2-to-Gen1-TPT-v2-stock.zip should be extracted to /sdcard, because 'image' directory is already in the zip. After extract your directory structure should look like this: /sdcard/image/* - where * are several .mbn and .img files. If you extract it into /sdcard/image/ you probably end up with /sdcard/image/image/* structure and TPT won't start. Check it.
