Creaking Vega

Hi all :)

I have a strange problem, which is that if I grip my Vega or pick it up by the left hand side, the housing creaks. I'm not sure why, and I think it has always done it. :) Anyone else have this problem?

Also, whenever I draw a diagonal line on the screen, in any app, it shows as a squiggly line. It happens in fruit ninja, the dev tools pointer location app, and AutoCAD Sketchbook most noticeably. It doesn't happen when I draw the line quickly, however if I go slowly, regardless of how straight I draw the line with my finger, the line comes out squiggly.

I'm running VegaComb on top of newbe5's modded stock 1.10 v1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My Vega sqeaks whether I pick it up with my left hand or right hand, and it flexes if I press on the back. It's because they use cheap plastic on a fairly large device. For £200, I'm prepared to live with that.

Fair enough :) I guess I should have expected this to be normal, but my first vega didn't do it at all. (This is my second vega, as my first didn't have a working hdmi port).

Anyone got any ideas about the touch screen?

The Vega doesn't have a high enough quality digitizer and is only dual touch but you can get reasonable line drawing with different apps. I did try a load of different ones recently and found one that was kind of OK but not good enough for what I wanted (drawing IT diagrams in meetings). Sorry, can't remember the name but wanted to set your expectations appropriately low ;)

The app was unusual in that you could share your sketches online and it had a "sketch of the day" feature if that helps...

Ok, I'm sure I'll get used to it, but is this a problem everybody suffers from? I can't remember if this was there on the stock from.

I'll restore and post my findings, I have a feeling this may just. be a VegaComb thing...

Try filling it with melted cheese. Maybe Cheddar or wensleydale. This might cure the problem.

mmmmm Wensleydale, that would be nice with Gingerbread :)

I have been doing some internal mods in the last few days on mine. Since doing the mod the back panel has developed a creak when I hold it in landscape with my right hand (home/back buttons facing up).

Annoying but I don’t notice it when its in the case. I spent about an hour trying to figure out what was causing it, gave up in the end but I will have another go later.
