Hi everyone, newbie here.

Ive been messing around with my vega for about 1 week now and although its a great machine it needs a custom ROM. Ive tried and tried, followed everything I can but still I cannot get it done. I cannot get the USB drivers working at all, no ADB. USBDeview only shows one entry "nvidia Tegra2 USB Device".

I know this has been a topic for loads of folk but any ideas other than what ive already found on here, oh and its been a long time since I delved into this sort of thing so treat me as a numptie.

Cheers

As you are new, you probaly dont know about searching modaco but it doesnt matter, ok back to the question if you use Audi (Automated Usb Driver Installer) you will problay find it easier to install the drivers needed for putting custom roms onto the vega. Heres one that i found really useful:

I'm new here too, picked up a Vega last weekend. I was having all sorts of problems until I discovered AUDI mentioned above.

After running that it was all pretty much plain sailing.

The others have mention the installer and thats great: http://android.modaco.com/topic/337380-beta-audi-automated-usb-driver-installer/

After that install ADB and Clockwork mod:

How to adb: http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-adb-and-how-to-install-it-android/

How to Clockwork recovery: http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-to-advent-vega/

And then throw on Vegacomb 1.7 ROM as a recommendation: http://tabletroms.com/forums/showthread.php?453-ROM-VegaComb-by-newbe5-and-Corvus

Both Modaco and Tabletroms are the major support/dev forums and many are happy to help.

Let us know how you get on.

Correction to that last post. If you install the Modded stock, it has clockwork already installed in it: http://tabletroms.co...-Stock-ROM-Base

That would save you some time and get you closer. The Vegacomb build requires this instead of the basic stock rom.

Bear in mind though that Vegacomb does not have hardware video acceleration which some applications need. Corvus5 or CM have hardware acceleration with no problems.

Thank you guys, used AUDI, it didnt work 100% but enabled ADB(so maybe it did work 100%), from there messed around a little and eventually got R8 on.

Now its given me the bug to keep going, cheers for all the help.
