Guest photons Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Hi I have flashed my vega back to the orginial image, flashed the Modded stock, and recently downloaded the vegacomb 1.7 files onto my laptop. Unfortunately my windows 7 laptop recognises the boot file as a windows disk image burner. I've tried changing it to notepad, but I still can't find the windows installer. When I click on it, it asks me to install a dvd/cd into the drive??????????????? The file was unzipped and came in 3 different files: system > META-INF > data + boot (windows disk image burner file). Which file or subfile do I clock on to get it to install? And if I need to click n boot, what alternative file should I use? Thanks Frustrated vega man.

Hiya, something is going wrong when you downloaded the Vegacomb 1.7, it's a zipped file and suppose to be installed with the file being zipped. Find the program on your PC that is auto unzipping files and disable it, and redownload and just copy the zipped file to you memory card. If you can't do it then i'd use someone elses PC to grab the file, cos unless it's zipped then i think you have no chance of installing the vegacomb rom. Hope this helps... Chris.

It isn't auto zipping, It is downloaded into a selected empty file and then I unzip it in there. Are you saying that I can download the zip file on the memory card of my vega? Please tell me more. Hi Photons You are correct - the install is done from the zip file on your Vega (do not unzip it!) Copy to a folder on your SD card, and then install using CWM B)

I installed corvus 5 but stumbled across the same installation problem on the SP1. This is why I chose vegacomb in order to avoid the problem. Thanks everyone

Thanks everyone To install corvus5 sp1 you do the same as all roms, install thru the recovery (clockworkmod), corvus5 sp1 updates a few things and removes the 2 penguins from the boot screens. So now you know to install any of the roms thru clockworkmod. Glad you got it sorted. Chris
Guest g947 Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 (edited) Hi, I have problem to install Vegacomb 1.7. Previously I used MoDaCo costum ROM r8. First I installed the VegaModdedStock_v1.10_v2.exe file with USB cable. Everything is ok at this point. Now I wanted to get a ROM Manager from the Market. I spent hours to get this program. First time I downloaded to my PC as a zip file and the apk file was copy to the sd card. I tried to use the program, but it was written, that a program must be in the flash. Finally I get the program from a market. The ROM Manager was installed, as the site said, but I can find nowhere. I checked a few times the downlods and I saw, that the ROM Manager were installed into the MoDaCo costum ROM r8 (?). This program is not on the tablet. What can I do now? How can I get a ROM Manager to use? The VegaComb 1.7.zip is on the SD card already, but I need to use the ROM Manager's Menu (Flash clockwork recovery, install new ROM from sd card, and so on). I have to tell you, I am not an expert in computer. g947 Edited August 6, 2011 by g947

What you should find with in the app drawer is an app called RECOVERY and that should reboot the device into Clockwork, then all you have to do is factory reset/full wipe and wipe dalvik cache (in advanced) then choose install from zip, scroll/locate the ROM, select it and let in install.
