hi going getting my vega today from pcworld just wondering which is the best rom out of vegacomb 1.7 corvus 5 and modaco r8 for stabability and ease of use thanks calhib

personally i think it is between corvus5 and cm7, i use cm7 as i like its look and feel.

this question has been asked a dozen times and the same answers always spread forth but what it boils down to is personal taste.

so get used to the vega on stock, read all the pinned help topics and then start playing.

or perhaps i should save that last comment for your next post " help i have bricked my vega " :P

No its impossible Calhib i was being a little petty and sarcastic perhaps, when you have been on here a while you will see that post appearing frequently.

But rest assured from a software point of view the vega is un brickable.

that is its main draw for most people who like to tinker :P

ahh ok nice 1 after watching some vids on youtube i think i am gonna go with corvus 5 unless there is some major hiccups init thanks calhib

That's good advice, but when he gets a shiny new Vega, you know he'll be like a kid with a new toy :D

I'm using Corvus 5 with SP1 and I'm getting bored with the stability ;) I think I might try CM7 while we're waiting for Vegacomb, so I csn recommend that. It's (a tiny bit) easier to install than Corvus 5 + SP1.

If it's installed carefully, Corvus5 with SP1is stable. Actually, it's amazingly stable when you think about it. I haven't switched mine off for 3 days or so.

If Vega2 is out next month, it will still be Tegra2. It might have a better screen or more memory, though.

Im running vegacomb love it has few bugs but its easy to get over them can doesn't work but its crap anyway lol I'd try them all easy enough to change roms so you can decide

Im defo going to try all roms;-) i did not know the vega 2 was on the horizon.Like the idea of vega thoe ,it's at a good price point and seem's to have a good few roms to try.

search for yaudig and audi by simonta they are the best starting points depending on your pc operating system.

once you have the drivers installed go for one of the other roms r8 is very old comparatively now and not as stable to be honest as corvus or my fave cm7.

if you want to be very brave you could just flash modded stock rom from newbe5 and then you will have clockwork mod installed which allows you to install new roms and updates from the vega without the need for a pc or additional drivers. personally though i like having the adb set up just in case :D

either way you choose all the answers are here in the forum just search and read.

i have plugged my vega into my pc and it is not even trying to install nvidia harmony drivers all it install is the nvidia tegra 2 drivers any help thanks calhib94

Go to myadventvega.co.uk and install drivers from there and use the flash update tool to flash the modded stock from and from there flash any from u want
