Guest sebset Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 I found this article here: http://www.infosync.no/news/2002/n/3063.html Orange UK launches flat-rate GPRS By: Jørgen Sundgot, Thursday, 13.02.03 11:28 GMT Orange Business Solutions today announced the launch of new flat rate GPRS pricing, aiming to drive the adoption of mobile data in businesses across the UK. In response to customer demand, Orange said it will be offering flat-rate GPRS pricing across all e-mail and access solutions, ranging from Office Freedom and Wirefree server offerings to Internet or intranet access, or leased line GPRS access. Solutions such as Office Freedom, offering e-mail access to Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes, and Wirefree Server, offering access to Microsoft Outlook only, will come at £30 GBP and £25 GBP per month, respectively. GPRS Business Internet, providing full access to the Internet or an intranet, will come at £45 GBP/month, while GPRS Business LAN, which provides business with a leased line comes at far higher prices. An example by Orange based on a 128 Kbps leased line would cost £2800 GBP/month for unlimited users and data transfers.
Guest neilg Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 sounds interesting, no mention on the O website that I can find though although it still shows the pre-feb 1st business GPRS tariffs!
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Also see http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/59/29333.html. I have to say, I would probably pay £45 per month, as I use GPRS a heck of a lot. It would be great if it included roaming GPRS. P
Guest spv_user Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Sounds good ! and would be nice for streaming audio but a bit steep just for that. If they can price for unlimited @ £45 p.s. Surley for say 30meg they could price a package at £20 p.s. Aimed at SPV users ? As I feel they are letting us down at the end of the promo period as i think the packages on offer are not verry good ? John
