I have an Acer Stream (S110) with Android 2.2. Is there any chance of getting an Android 2.3.3 ROM for this phone?

I have read rumors saying Acer have stopped further dev of this phones firmware.

Regards.

Official 2.3 does not will, custom roms do not yet ...

Our device is locked bootloader.

Because of what no ability to put custom recovery.

Try to learn how to unlock the bootloader (probably near the acer).

Acer releases the loader if I lay out recovery.

Man, I'm stuck with this problem. My wifi doesn't work. All the solutions to this problem require me to make a recovery, but ALL, and I mean ALL forms of support is gone for the acer stream. Third party devs aren't interested in the phone, and Acer themselves have stopped their support for this phone. THIS REALLY SUCKS mad.gif

Acer are still selling these phones, so there must be some degree of support for it, at least here is Australia anyway. Seeing as the Stream is Acers High End phone, i would think there would be a lot more interest in it. I have Rooted it with no issues, but there seems to be little info on how to build a rom for it.

The first thing to do is unlock the bootloader, and Rom's do not be a problem ...

It is their high end phone, but not for long. They're releasing the Acer Iconia smart. That will replace stream's status as acer's high end smartphone. Besides, they have reasons to stop supporting their model. This phone barely sells. The phone that sells the most by acer is probably acer liquid metal. The fact that this phone probably incurred losses for them because they probably didnt even hit breakeven, is a reason good enough (for them) to stop supporting this model. They will only go down more in loss. They'll still support metal and liquid, because those two are the ones that actually sell.

I've given up on fixing my wifi. I really tried alot but I cant fix it no matter what. I'll just have to live with an 'android' without wifi -.-

Warranty?

Long expired. Besides, I got it from Dubai. Where I actually am, there is no support for acer phones at all. I'm f*cked. :/

If warranty was gone you can try, AT YOUR OWN RISK, to open your phone and check if all the flat cable is ok...
