Guest vanisleguy1976 Posted August 5, 2011 Report Posted August 5, 2011 Alas, the time has come to bid farewell to my old faithful companion! My Liquid E has always managed to take a lickin' but keep on tickin'... That was until last night when an unchoreographed run-in with gravity and a sidewalk rendered my screen useless. I've enjoyed the community development here, and appreciate everything that everyone has done. It was my first Android phone, and I arrived here like a baby, not knowing the difference between bin and rom, but you all guided me. I went from being scared to flash (What if I ruin my warranty??... I was such a noob :P) to actually enjoying the process a little! and now I'm ready to graduate. Every ending means a new beginning. My next phone will definately be 4G! I've narrowed the list down to: HTC Evo 3D LG Optimus 3D Samsung Galaxy S Infuse 4G Anyone here have any hands-on experience with any of these devices who would care to comment? I'm leaning more towards the Evo, but I'm opeen to advice! (Oh, and if I'm feeling ambitious enough, I may seek out a replacement screen and try to bring it back to life! I'm currently stuck with my ancient BB Curve 8310... Sort of feels like I traded in my Porsche for a Datsun :P ... Bottom line, the BB is not a very viable option for a "back-up" phone Haha)
Guest Chewy11 Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Hi While I still love my Liquid, my girlfriend hated her LG EVE so she switched it up for an Infuse...WOW the screen is huge, she has no issues with it being to big, says it's perfect. I would lean towards the HTC mostly because of the dual core, screen sizes are pretty close, same range anyhow, the infuse has being available and having 16gig internal memory and the BEST screen in the biz, although this version has low dpi because of the size to pixel count ratio. Really tho its no even close to an issue. I already have the Infuse rooted and done a couple tweaks but the community is younger and just starting.Should be good because this phone is a close cousin to all the Galaxy series. IT does have a locked bootloader that prevents boot flashing, but they are working on it. I now spend a lot of time on XDA at the Infuse thread.Let me know what you choose.
Guest Morris Lee Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 I have moved on too, I am using the Motorola Atrix, love the HDMI and the Tegra 2 performance. maybe this is one you can put on your list of consideration! Bootloader has just been unlocked, and cyanogen is just on its way. I can't wait!! :)
Guest Chewy11 Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 Cool, I'm really torn, I spend too much time reading rumors to set on one device. Bootloaders: gotta check those(Infuse still has partial boot lock :(...I hope for you that your Atrix Community develops well and you get CM7 and good friendly DEVs!

Thanks Chewy, I think they have already have most of the stuff working on the CM7 for Atrix, I doubt that the HDMI out or webtop feature is working though....
Guest LUVLiquid Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 (edited) Samsung Galaxy S2 not avliable in your country (Canada?) yet? Samsung said the U.S. will have it in August 4.3 inch AMOLED 1.2 dual core (not Nvidia T2, but Samsung's Exynos 4210 CPU) 8MP camera 1080p video super slim and light microUSB with OTG support and hdmi via adapter super fast while browsering heavy pages ( like alot of flash and pic) the only downfall is the Gaming performance isn't as gd as T2 but there's will be a Samsung Galaxy R (or Galaxy Z in Europe) with Nvidia T2 CPU to be release in Europe and Asia this Aug/Sept. 5 MP 720p video SLCD 4.2" Edited August 9, 2011 by LUVLiquid
Guest vanisleguy1976 Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 I ended up going with the Evo, and I see you did too, Chewy! (Saw your post over at XDA.) There will always be a special place in my heart for my Liquid though :P See you over in Evo-Land B-)
Guest HustlinDaily Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 I am awaiting the LG Thrill (Optimus 3D with HSPA+ for AT&T). Expected to be coming out at the end of the month. Though now that the Atrix bootloader has been unlocked, it really is an attractive option (just wish the phone wasn't so damn ugly).
Guest HustlinDaily Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Thrill got delayed AGAIN. Think I am just going to settle with an Atrix.
