Problems with WINAMP and streaming music

Hi All

This may be clutching at straws but i am looking for a good program to wirelessly stream music to my Vega - currently using GMote which is not bad but lacks functionality such as playlists etc. WINAMP is supposed to be good but i cant get my PC to detect the Vega despite following the instructions and various advice through general forums. Has anybody here actually got a Vega streaming through WINAMP ?, are there any better programs ? or am i flogging the proverbial dead horse ?

I've been using subsonic from the market. Needs the software installed on your pc as well. Transcodes media on the fly to be playable on android. Very good bit of kit. I'd highly recommend.

I use UPnPlay. Its not the most polished app, but so far it has run without a problem. You can create Playlists very easily.

Use in conjuction with something like MoboPlayer and you can also stream video.

If you want a better interface look at BubbleUPnP

Subsonic does video too. Appears as a YouTube type flash video. I mainly like it because it's one software designed to work with itself. Instead of one maker of software on the PC and another for the Vega. And that it's transcodes on the fly meaning I can have a high Def video or flac on the PC and it will convert to the right type of video and mp3 to be playable by the Droid software.

I've had music streaming over 3g on my way to work driving and it works very well.

Personal preference but I might give these other suggestions a try to see if they can work better for me.

Thanks for the suggestions, what software are you guys using for media servers on your PC's im currently on XP
