Guest Lenny1341 Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Hi, I am writing here because I want to know whether if I and my girlfriend buy an HTC wildfire s each on an Orange UK contract we will be able to chat for free despite the fact I am going abroad for 8 months to France. It is my understanding that if we both use wifi to connect to the internet then we can use an app such as Nimbuzz or Skype or Viber to talk and send messages free. I was just wondering if this is true. Basically I am at uni and I have 8 months out in France and so was wondering whether I can use the campus/ home wifi to connect to these apps and therefore recieve and send messages for free and also talk for free despite the fact that I am on an Orange UK contract. My girlfriend obviously wishes to do the same. Thanks, Lenny
Guest Atomix86 Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 If you use the internet based apps such as Skype, and they are not blocked by the campus wi-fi, then yes there will be no problem there (aside from the battery drain from having the app always running ;) ), however remember roaming charges will still apply to all regular features eg. SMS, MMS, GPRS, phone calls etc.
Guest Lenny1341 Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 Thanks for that, that is exactly what I thought. For some reason the guy in the orange shop said it would cost and I was like, I'm pretty sure it doesn't but just wanted to make sure. Cheers, Lenny
