How to add Reboot option to pwer menu in Gingerbread ROM

Hi,

I have been trying to add reboot option to power menu of gingerbread ROM (GSF18).

I tried using instructions in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811532

But they are not so clear for Gingerbread.

Would a dev be kind enough to help me with this? :)

i quite liked that too in other roms but the current gsf b19 doesnt have it

Power buttons wear out - there is a reboot app instead, why not use it?

isnt there a Power mod thing like your on about in the gingerbread goodies thread....check threre. pretty sure there is.

OK, I followed that guide suggested by XpressAndy, simply as a learning exercise for myself. I am posting the result here in case its useful for someone.

I used the framework files from b17 (I dont have the later versions). Tested it on my own phone, seems to work fine. I dont know what the download option is for though so perhaps dont use it unless you know what its for :D

The updater script has been stolen from burstlams version of the mod in gingerbread goodies page - all I've done is overwrite the files in there with mine. Of course, you're probably better off just using burstlams version anyway :)

Also put the original framework files from wbaws original b17 in case you want to revert back. Burstlams script wipes dalvik cache already so just reboot after flashing.

As suggested by wbaw its better to use the reboot app, especially as it reboots much faster.

BTW, do a nandroid backup first
