Guest ColdEmbrace Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Title says it all, referenced from the Orange website so it will be the price http://shop.orange.co.uk/mobile-phones/orange-monte-carlo
Guest FrankieADZ Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 I have to admit I'm tempted..but after hearing there releasing a 1GHz version later on. I really dont see the point in getting one atm.
Guest targetbsp Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 For £13 more you can get the Huawei Titan which is ARMv7. I just don't see the market for this. You either get the much cheaper Blade or the slightly more expensive but better Titan surely?
Guest t0mm13b Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 I posted on the Skate Forum that Amazon UK are doing the sim free version, unlocked I presume, for 249GBP, around 285euro, release date 20th September. Bit pricey innit? :o

Guest Pondlife Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Well it is just a launch price I guess, expect we'll see it go down fairly soon. Just not that tempted by it on the whole though.
Guest Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Hopefully soon we can get rom dump for that glorious .35 kernel :D

Guest Pondlife Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Isn't the Titan only Froyo atm though? Seemed it from CPW site.
Guest targetbsp Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 (edited) Isn't the Titan only Froyo atm though? Seemed it from CPW site. For a lot of people frequenting this forum, the rom the phone comes with isn't especially relevant. :D In any case, I see the official update is available 'very soon' according to the appropriate subforum of this site. :) Edited August 9, 2011 by targetbsp
Guest ColdEmbrace Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 The phones in stock on orange now :) Oh well won't buy it till december-ish time.
Guest Pelemane Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Isn't the Titan only Froyo atm though? Seemed it from CPW site. Yes newest stock ROM is 2.2.2 but as targetbsp said Gingerbread is coming soon. And there is couple custom 2.3.5 ROMs for this. Oxygen, MIUI and unofficial CM7. HCDRJacob is working on official CM7 but there haven't been any nightlys yet.
Guest Pondlife Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 knock off £3 which apparently is the cost to sim unlock the monte carlo via a website until an algorithm is found, a tenner difference now..... People on hukd getting the 30 quid discount for those who've been orange customers for 3 months on their freephone number (from landline) 0800 079 2000 which makes it rather cheaper if anyone is still on orange. Don't think they do the Titan, so looking bit better again for those who have stuck with orange £40 difference.
