10 Aug Gr1: MoDaCo Custom ROM for the ZTE Skate development kitchen

Now that we have a ClockworkMod recovery for the Skate / Monte Carlo, it's time to have some ROM fun. :)

This is the development kitchen for the first release of the MoDaCo Custom ROM. It is ONLY available in the kitchen while I am working on it (which means MoDaCo Plus / Ad Free members only), but as soon as it's in decent shape for a first release it will get a full release with prebakes etc. as always.

Features are growing all the time, but currently include...

• Based on the Orange initial release

• Full up to date Google experience + additional apps (including new look Market)
  
• HSPA icon differentiation ('H' icon when transferring data via HSPA)

• Support for running scripts from /etc/init.d at startup

Would this rom effectively unlock the phone?

I'm assuming not, at this point, but would like to be sure.

You need to install via ClockworkMod, not the stock recovery.

Does it work ? How?

Ive found the signal reception for for both 3G and Voice shows lower levels than on an identically placed Blade and this seems to be more than just reporting because the Skate loses the signal (at least no data is transferred) whilst the Blade still works in the same location.

Not sure why you put this question in this thread but...

The Signal Boost App roots calls (& txts) through Wifi. The Blade doesn't have signal boost though does it?

You need to turn it on, Red House = Using Celluar Network Green House = Using Wifi.
