Data Connection query

Hello i was wondering if anyone could explain something about data to me, first off i have sf, running blue ginger v5. This is thing when i'm out in town and use my data it is really slow loading pages, if i go to my mothers house 5 mins walk from me i stuggle to even get it to load anything, but when i'm sitting in my own house i seem to have no problems, i thought the point of having data was so you could browse online when your out, in my case its pointless for me. Do you think maybe changing my rom would help improve it, or is it just because of where i live?

Maybe just where you live. Have you tried using opera browser - its designed for slower connections. Try opera mini (not opera mobile). It has option for opera turbo, which compresses data (mostly pictures) to reduce the amount of data transfer hence speeding up the connection at the expense of some picture clarity (not really noticable after a while and can be adjusted in preferences).

+1 for Opera Mini, it makes browsing on 2G connections somewhat bearable.
