Just rang orange and got the monte carlo for £119.99 delivered.

They offer a £30 siscount and give £10 free credit to all orange pay as you go customers that have been a customer for 3 months or more.

they wouldnt let me use phone fund with this offer.

Nope. It doesn't do anything that the blade can't do. I'll be saving my £110 to go towards something that's a generation newer.

For the feature difference (assuming you're OK with a custom rom on the Blade) I'd have a hard time justifying the Skates £120 over the Blades £85 (using the same offer) if this was my first phone. No way I'd upgrade from a Blade I have.

2.3 as standard rather than 2.1 makes the Skate a better first time purchase for those not into custom roms though.

I think ZTE made a right mess of this - for that price - they should have gone for a ARMv7 chipset - think of Huawei's U8800 here... then yes I would buy it but.... its still ARMv6... so pppppfffttttttt, we already have it inside the blade :)

Oh dear :P - its not a handset. Infact Flibblesan made the joke in the "what do you think the skate will be called under branding" thread :P

And I was going along the lines of a Samsung Tocco Lite (Samsung Star internationally, I think)

My Blade was £66 inc. delivery, nearly immaculate condition with cases, screen protectors, all standard accessories and a free card reader... so it'd be pretty hard for me to justify a straight upgrade of any price right now.

That said, if I was looking for an upgrade, I'd benefit if I did so ASAP while selling the blade, paying a small price for the upgrade. Even though I get paid tomorrow, I'll keep the Blade. :)
