Guest causeway Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 I returned home this evening and checked the battery percentage on my OMC and it was at 92 percent after 16 hours! It's only been sitting doing nothing the whole time so i know that this isn't representative of daily use but that's the best i've ever gotten from an android, standby or not. There were zero wakes in the 'battery use' menu, i suppose it just goes to show how much syncing etc kills the battery. I had logged into market but hadn't synced my email. This is using the stock orange ROM too. How's everyone else finding the battery? Is the screen a real battery murderer?

Guest philmein Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 (edited) unplugged mine from a full charge at 5.00am left in standby 3.00pm still 100% the battery life on this phone is great im sure orange signal boost app saves battery life seems a great app no roaming charges abroad if you have wiifi access Edited August 12, 2011 by philmein
Guest blondejon Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 mines still at 95% after two days
Guest jojozep Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 mines still at 95% after two days I'm astonished to say the least - after 5 days status shows 60%. OK with no Apps running or real usage except a test call made everyday (just to make sure the battery indicator isn't saying 90% but runs out of battery when dialing). But as I said I'm very surprised. I've got an Orange MC that has been unlocked and thats it - no Apps installed. This is great. Not even my very old Nokia 3310 (without any real usage) gave this performance.
Guest Atomix86 Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 In standby mode with screen off, it's fantastic. But in actual use its quite bad to be honest.
Guest dadashi Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 battery use is great, if left in standby it can last 10 days....if used for wifi, music, films, streaming you should get thru the day no problem....its absolutely normal for a smartphone. Top sellers like HTC Desire HD have terrible battery life, google and see... Plug it in every night irrespective of how much charge is left, that way the battery should last 3 or 4 years. By recharging while its still charged up it never completes a full cycle and will have a longer life. By fully discharging the battery and then charging it will reduce the battery life.... the biggest reason for battery drain is the app running in the background, sort through your apps to see which one's are hogging the battery and get rid of them...
Guest FruityTen Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 Personal experience using the Monte Carlo is very good, I've had devices (Desire, Galaxy S, Nexus One and iPhone 4) and the OMC definitely competes well with all these devices. I am very very happy for the money and you should find the battery life fairly average for a 4.3" screen device. If you're not happy with the battery then buy another one seen as the phone cost you peanuts compared to the other devices like it.
