Hi Everyone,

Had my Vega for around 3 weeks and its been running fine. Over the last few days i have been trying various roms. After trying them all i found that R8 was the one for me so i re flashed back to that.

Since then when I turn my Vega on i cant unlock it it just doesn't register a touch at all.

Can i get into the clockwork recovery at all to re flash from SD as i cannot find my USB cable. Sometimes It will register a slight touch but not enough to unlock the screen.

Weird problem and its stressing me out because I feel helpless.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Jay

Not sure if you can get into CWM without USB if you can't touch the screen. You could try a USB mouse, if you have one and R8 supports it. I've seem reports that people have had misbehaving screens if they touced them during boot and make sure you don't have the power connected and try again.

Sorry I can't be of any more help, any touch screen issues I've had have been cured by a simple reboot. If the USB mouse is an option search for 1.7 USB mouse fix and you should find the appropriate thread.

yes.. touching the screen (and i mean swiping or a firm touch) during the boot, will make the screen irresponsible. (:

just hold the power button for 6 sec for a hard close. and restart the device then.

Thank's for the replies.

I tried not touching the screen at all during boot and it still had the same problems. I ended up taking it back to curry's where they exchanged it.

Now I am going to have to reinstall R8 from scratch again.

Thing is when I installed a custom rom on the last unit Im sure I had to run something to partition the device properly to fit a new rom on it.

but i cant seem to find the same process now?

cheers

Hiya, well i have never seen instructions about partitioning the device before you install a custom rom, you maybe thinking about making an ext2/3 or 4 partition to use with link2SD which is done via the recovery (clockworkmod) side of things.

If you look at this link i have give instructions on how to install R8 easily with vega tools 4, and also some extra advice into installing other things.
