Guest Pdragon Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 For those of you who didn't see on Zebwen's twitter feed (Newbe5 on this forum and youtube) he has released a brief clip of the current development of Vegacomb showing its 3.2 shinyness. This brings with it all the dreamy 3.1 improvements and better flash support: http://www.differencebetween.com/difference-between-android-3-0-and-vs-3-2-honeycomb/ Thanks to the whole team for their continued effort. When its ready to go, I will be definitely be donating. Newbe5's clip here:
Guest diamondgar Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Looks awesome, i must admit im usually a bit of a tight bastard when it comes to to dontating to developers especially since i shut my paypal account. But the value added to the Vega by vegacomb means i will definitely send a few beers to the team once this is released and installed.
Guest trevor432990 Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Excellent news it'll be great to have Android 3.2 available on the Vega. I've been holding off a move to Vegacomb so far but when I hear this latest version is up and running and in a stable condition I shall definitely be upgrading. Thanks to Newbe5 and all those responsible for this development ;)
Guest le_lutin Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Hmmm, So... donating. I know zebwen (newbe2) has done some amazing work on vegacomb and deserves loads of credit, but there are others who (and newbe would say this himself), deserve credit too. From following the kernel thread in the stickie, that guy eduardo has done some amazing stuff, and I don't think we'd have 3.2 without him. As has rebel1. So, the question is, is there a central pot we can donate to? I'd like to show my appreciation to the team.

Totally agree with with your comments, I've been following Eduardo's/Rebel's Kernel thread for sometime ( refreshing the page at least every hour :-) morning, noon and night ), they've been doing some incredible work and as well as donating to Newbe5, I would also like to donate to all who have had a big input on Vegacomb when 3.2 is finally released.

With you on that fellas, i tweet PMed Newbe5 that same question this morning. It was a team effort and the team should get the kudos. Hopefully we can get a simple place to give some love. Also, Honeypot is the best name for this. Nice one Minimonkey!
Guest Paul K Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Just looked at youtube vid. Speed looks fantastic. Can not wait to get my hands on this ........

I am in constant contact with Rebel1 on Google Talk and email, and we have been working very closely on this, however haven't been in as frequent contact with Eduardo, so I can't speak for him. The kernel and the HC port are almost separate things, but we are all working together for the greater good, so I'm not sure what to say about split donations, they certainly shouldn't al be coming to me alone! I am more than happy to accept and pass on donations to members of the team, but I/you would have to speak to them specifically to check if this is OK with them, and Eduardo would have to be approached singularly :) I'm sure they will all appreciate the goodwill! newbe5
Guest maltloaf Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 I've watched the video through a few times and cannot wait for this. Love the speed and smoothness. A decent drink coming your way on release

Guest nelles Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 Yup, this thing is over and above 1.7 in every way :) is it gonna use the kernel from beta 44 ?
Guest Niks10 Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 Really....really looking forward to next release.
Guest TimboDavis Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 newbe5 hates Vold! LoL! How can you tell!??
Guest duvee Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 (edited) the battery usage of vegacomb is by definition higher than the corvus rom? i switched back to corvus after using vegacomb for a month.. and i'm trully impressed that after 3 days of usage.. the battery is still 59 (playing games, surfing the internet and playing music). will the battery usage improve with the new vegacomb builds or is it just a one time good battery? :) Edited August 13, 2011 by duvee
Guest Batlin Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Looking for next release, can't wait! Will it happen in next week? ;) PS: Is it even faster than Test rom build 43?
Guest rvdgeer Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 (edited) EDIT: Never mind.... Need to learn how to read ;) Edited August 15, 2011 by rvdgeer
Guest stiggy2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 The kernel for the honeycomb 3.2 release will not be the same as build 44. And yes it is ever faster too!
