Feel like throwing it at the wall!!

Hi, my 11 month old OLED-screened Blade has started dropping data connection all the time. It shows the 3G signal until i want to load a page then i lose signal altogether and can't even make a phone call. I have to say it only does this sometimes, (i.e. when i'm out and actually need it to work, grrr)

My OH has the same phone on the same network (Orange) except his is a replacement and now he gets a 3G+ icon and his data speeds are excellent.

I've never ever got 3G+, how can i get this?

Just wondered if any of you experienced people think it's that i have an out of date sim card or a bogus setting somewhere.

Any help to a noob would be appreciated.

It's very common to get 3g+ (hsdpa) without the icon showing. I wouldn't pay much attention to the icon.

Are you running the stock ROM?

try another sim card to see if that is the problem

I didn't. That would be a waste.

I was frustrated with this too. Though as said, don't pay too much attention to the icon. That could be something as simple as the current theme set. I went into Phone information (*#*#4636#*#* into dialer) and set it as WCDMA only. Of course when there is no coverage, it won't switch. The option has obvious downsides but I prefer it this way for the time being.
