cyanogenmod is using new 2.3.5 android, but still uses old kernel, so plese can someone do this?

That's a smashing idea!

I'll just get on to it - will have it uploaded in a jiffy...

...what you're suggesting is really rather difficult, you will hopefully not be too surprised to hear

Release of the 2.6.35 source for the skate may make things a little more feasible, bit still this is gonna be no mean feat

This has been asked countless times to do this the devs need the source code and ZTE isnt going to be releasing it until towards the end of August so you will have to wait

Please search before asking

It has been asked countless times.

The VMSPLIT_2G patches are merged to CM7

It can be done.

(I know because I have done it myself).

It can be done, but the patches don't seem to be complete for the blade, it fails to build. Can remove the check that makes the build fail, but then a few things dont work.

So, it can be done & it's not amazingly hard, but if ZTE are going to decide to comply with the GPL & release their modified kernel source code then it can be done in a better way.
