Guest loggo Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 Hi there, i have just flashed my vega with vegamodded stock v1.10v2 that part of the install went fine. I then booted into cwm ,done the three wipes what was need, delvik etc etc. and then went ahead and installed corvus5 now, i get a error, Writing boot image... assert failed:write_raw_image("/tmp/bootimg" , "boot") E:Error in /sdcard/download/Corvus5.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted. I have done this three times now with the same results. The rom boots fine and everything seems to be ok,but this error is bugging me and i was just wondering what should i do? Thanks. Also i know there is a thread similer to this but like i said i have been testing rom now for about two hours and i have not have any problems so far.
Guest HypoTurtle Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 Sounds like the corvus5 file is corrupt or wasn't fully downloaded. Redownload and try again.

Two thoughts: firstly, as you say, if the image it was writing was corrupt it wouldn't boot, and secondly, it was writing to a /tmp folder. If it's running ok don't let it bug you; stick it in the category marked "Life Is Too Short For Stuff Like This".

The way I read it (feel free to confirm this Loggo) is that the device is booting into modded stock and not corvus5. If you try to install a from and it doesn't complete generally the device will still boot into the previous from. Loggo how are you entering ClockworkMod Recovery? Just using the recovery app should work well, (I've seen people have said elsewhere that ROM manager is needed with moddedstock - which it's not, and isn't advised) but if you have been using just the app you can use ROM Manager to reinstall CWM and use the app to reboot into CWM and try again.
Guest xathras Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 "like i said i have been testing rom now for about two hours and i have not have any problems so far." I read it the other way, but I agree that it's unclear. Let us know loggo which ROM is running ok.

Don't download on your Vega - notorious for corrupt downloads. Download to PC and transfer.
Guest loggo Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 Ok sorry guys, if post was a little unclear. I am running corvus5 even thoe i had said error. Guest loggo Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Now running the latest vegacomb, did not have any trouble with errors flashing this or 1.7. Maybe some thing to do with corvus5 And modded stock rom? Must say this Vegacomb test build is stunning:-)
