Guest Metroid_Maniac Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 (edited) I have an Orange San Francisco, Gen 1 with the latest Cyanogen nightly. I used to have headphones, the stock ones with a single button. They played music fine, and the button played and paused. Then the headphones broke. I bought another set of headphones from O2. They played my music... sorta. There was something "off" about the music. It's hard to describe. Anyway, when I held down the single button on the headphones, the music played just fine. And the media doesn't pause. I tried a set of HTC headphones. It did the exact same thing, playing the music funnily unless the pause button is held. I have no clue why its doing this. It does this for all music being played, not just that from Mixzing (my media player), and the strange thing is the play/pause, next and previous buttons in the notification bar and lock screen work fine, pausing or skipping like they are supposed to. I haven't tried any other roms yet. I will do, and report back on what I find. But if anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated. EDIT: I've tried the headphones in my computer, so it's definitely a problem with the phone and not the headphones. EDIT 2: I've tried using Headset Button Controller to see if it's reading the headset button presses. It isn't. Edited August 19, 2011 by Metroid_Maniac
Guest Metroid_Maniac Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 (edited) OK, I tried it on Ginger Stir Fry after factory resetting. Exact same bug. This has me completely perplexed. If anyone wants to lend a hand, go ahead! Also, shameless self-bump. Even though it's still on the first page EDIT: Forget it, I just taped down the button on the O2 headphones EDIT2:That didn't work. Anyone know how to hold down a button? Guest Metroid_Maniac Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Did you manage to fix it? Also, the this occurs in apps other than Mixing, and like snesoid
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Interestingly the stock headphones didnt work properly on my laptop unless the button was held down... I am searching the forums atm to see what headphones will work :P
Guest ColdEmbrace Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 It only works for specific headphones, not sure if its just the 2 banded ones or if that has nothing to do with the play/pause at all
