Guest SteliosGR Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 (edited) I decided to buy a new second battery with external changer due to the limited battery duration. However, when I inserted the new charged battery, the phone didn't recognized it as a new battery but as the old one that have been suddenly fully charged. As a result the statistics are wrong, reducing the efficiency of the batteries. Is there any solution for my issue? For example an app that could recognize the new battery and correctly update the stats every time that I replace a battery with the other. Edited August 20, 2011 by SteliosGR
Guest targetbsp Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 This might help: http://www.appbrain.com/app/battery-calibration/com.nema.batterycalibration Guess you'd have to run it every battery swap.

Do you mean that I have to wipe the battery statistics every time I swap the batteries? I suppose that this action would affect the efficiency of the batteries due to the fact that the statistics will always be new. Edited August 20, 2011 by SteliosGR
Guest Unbalanced Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 (edited) @SteliosGR When you wipe the battery stats (or performing a battery calibration) the OS needs at least 4-5 charging circles of the battery to gather stats about your battery. So it's a bit difficult to swap different batteries and have precise stats... I am afraid that you have to live with it... PS I also have a secondary battery from eBay. Just for an emergency. Guest targetbsp Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 You could technically use a root file manager to swap the battery stats file when you swap the battery. Seems a lot of hassle to go through though!

I know that it's impossible to have precise battery stats using two batteries but this problem could be solved by an application that could recognize the serial number of each battery and gather different statistics for each one. If the s/n is imposible to be recognized by the phone, the user could manually update the app that battery swap has been occured. This is a very clever idea, but it is indeed hassle to manually change the battery stats file. An application could do this for us...
