Guest Stephen1915 Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 Hi everyone, Enjoyed playing with my San Francisco - until the screen became unrepsonsive. I have learnt so much thanks to this forum. So I bought 2 more identical SFs except one was for my wife and it she chose white. I unlocked both, rooted and re-romd with Modaco R12 and clockwork 3.0.28. Hers is perfect! Mine won't auto rotate - images from gallery, text input, browser - nothing. Hers - brilliant!! I fortunately backed up the Orange image so I reverted to stock and guess what? Auto rotation works! Re-installed Modaco R12 and....it doesn't work. Any ideas would be gratefully received as I have big fingers which cannot type well in portrait! Thanks in advance Stephen
Guest k0zmic Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 Have you tried it with another ROM e.g. Swedish Spring?
Guest Stephen1915 Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Have you tried it with another ROM e.g. Swedish Spring? I did see this from Unatural Selection further down. "So to get the Accelerometer working on Swedish Spring you need to install the softbank kernel. (Make a backup, beacause you're gonna flash a new mod) 1) You boot in recovery 2) wipe cache & data (factory reset) 3) when you choose "install from .zip file" FIRST you install Swedish Spring RLS5 mod, THEN you choose one more time a .zip file and this time you flash the Softbank Kernel You can download the softbank kernel from here But as far as I know this is the ONLY way you get your auto-rotation working, with Cyanogenmod for me there was NO way to make it work. I still hope someone could help to fix the problem with CM" Any other suggestions gratefully received - still don't understand why it works on one and not the other! Stephen

Guest t0mm13b Posted August 23, 2011 Report Posted August 23, 2011 That sounds like a sensors problem, not the ROM. Uhmm... two suggestions: Try replacing the binary AKMD2 - that is responsible for the sensors.Re-calibrate the sensors - there was a thread under "ROMs & Customizations" about it buried among the pile.... If one or both of the above suggestions fail, then it could be that in all likeli-hood, the sensors are faulty and or broken.
