Guest brinkley1988 Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 You will be able to get the new Samsung Galaxy S II on all the major U.S carriers soon, but you can get the sprint variant of the Samsung Epic Touch 4G quicker. And quicker here means September 9th. Sprintfeed gets the news that Sprint’s version of the Samsung Galaxy S II will be called the Epic Touch 4G, a correction in the previously pitched name of Epic 4G Touch. It was initially dubbed as the Samsung Within. Sprint will be the first carrier to come with the WIMAX- enabled Samsung Galaxy S II. Going by Sprint’s usual release dates, the launch would have been on September 11. But the tenth commemoration of the 9/11 attacks seems to have pushed the date back for two days, fixing the release on Friday. Samsung is also preparing for a special media event, scheduled on August 29, to unveil it US Galaxy S II lineup. Here’s a quick recap of the devices specs, in case you have forgotten them. The Samsung Galaxy S II is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 2.3.3 OS from Google. It features a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480 and also has an 8 megapixel camera at the back and a 2 MP camera at the front for video call. The pricing details of the device are not revealed yet, but you might well expect it at a premium price at launch, like the Epic 4G.
