How can I use the ascend roms to upgrade my u8230, I do believe that this is possible because they have the same hardware on the other hand the u8230 can be upgraded with the pulse (u8220) in spite the difference in their hardware and this push me to believe that upgrading the u8230 is possible (and more stable) with the ascend roms I HOPE THAT OUR EXPERTS CAN HELP AND GUIDE US TO A POSSIBLE WAY TO DO THIS.

As far as i can found, the big difference is the rom capacity, in Ascend is 512MB, in u8230 is 256MB: http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=2654&c=huawei_ascend_m860 It looks the cpu is the same, you can see in the figure in the end of this page http://www.prepaidandroid.org/index.php?title=CM7-Ascend the cpu info is the same as our's ARMv6- compatible processor rev 2(v6l).

Devs here already looked at porting previous roms from ascend but just couldn't. Drivers are completely different I believe. If you can find chinese post with rom then theres nothing left to crack!? :)

Because our rom's those not work on Ascend, their rom's will not work on our´s u8220/u8230. In this topic http://android.modaco.com/topic/341240-official-froyo-update-for-m860/ waswas verified the possibility to have the driver camera for CM7, but this was from a 2.2 version, now we have a 2.3 version from Ascend, maybe someone with skills could use it to our CM7 rom. Please, someone could give a try. I have some hope that we will have a full functional CM7 rom. Even if there is already no more development to our phone, i remain grateful for what has been done to improve our phone.
