Guest maranric Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 Hi! I've a great problem with GSF B21... when I call with 3G activated the call is terminated without any reason in few minutes. This happens even in city with full signal...and I'd not this problem with Cyanogenmod 7.10. If I change 3g->2g the call is always perfect. I cannot use 2g cause my operator (Tre - 3 - Hutchinson) offers internet data only by 3G.... I don't want to turn back to CM7 cause the battery drain in very few hours... is there a patch? Anyone has this problem with 3 operator in Italy? Thanks a lot Riccardo

Plug in the usb cable into handset, and issue one of these commands adb logcat -b radio > radio_log.txt This watches and log the radio events pertaining to the gsm/cellular data. Be sure to hit Ctrl+C to terminate. Also, using this adb logcat -b system > system_log.txt Will watch the system log as well for general system. Likewise, Ctrl+C here also When you make a call, and log it - sounds awkward I know, with the blade plugged in and one of those commands entered, and after the call has ended, by doing that, you will be able to provide a log as to exactly why its happening... Pastebin it and let us know - we might be able to come up with something :) Cheers, B)

BTW I've to admit that ZTE Blade is not faulty....In the same zone other friends with Iphone have the same problem...than i think it's a Hutchinson 3 problem ...I've now the same problem even with Cyanogenmod nightly 175.... Maybe i'll turn back to Ginger Stir Fry. An other question : WIth Cyanogenmod If I scan the operators, I see correctly the 4 Italian operators (Tim, Vodafone, Wind, 3)...and that is obviously ok. With GingerStirfry I can see the 4 italian ones and other 4 operators of CROATIA! (MOBITEL..TELE2 HR...HR VIP..... T- MOBILE HR:...) How is it possible?!? Croatia is far 250km...and is not possible that ZTE Blade is able to capture this signal....has GingerStir Fry different system of capting signal?!

Short Answer: GSF's system of radio signal is no different to CM7. Long Answer: There's a file within the ROM that specifies different network operators. GSF seems to have a different set of APNs (Access Point Names) preconfigured in that file, far more so than CM7 which explains why it was able to pick up other network operators. CM7 has a limited set of predefined APNs. :) B) Edited August 29, 2011 by t0mm13b
