Guest Mousie_grr Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 Hi, I took my LG 2X out of my pocket earlier on (around 9-9:30) and the screen says "S/W Upgrade, Please Wait While Upgrading", I immediately plugged it in as I didn't want it to run out of battery if it was doing something critical. Is this the awaited Gingerbread update? It's been on this screen for at least an hour and didn't ask me anything it just happened without my knowledge whilst in my pocket. If it is the Gingerbread update then is it doing it over the air? I have awful data reception (Usually on GPRS and occasionally EDGE) at my end of town so if it is then surely it's going to take an age? Is there anything I can do other than wait for it to finish? Quite annoying that there's no progress bar or any evidence of the phone doing anything at all. It's a 2 week old stock UK LG Optimus 2X from the Modaco/Superetrader competition. Any ideas or should I just stop being impatient and let it do it's thing overnight and then worry about it?
Guest Stryke69 Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 (edited) You just hit the power button and the volume up (or down) button at the same time, but not long enough to enter recovery mode. So that is nothing to worry about. Simply take out battery and start the phone again. Edited August 27, 2011 by Stryke69
Guest Mousie_grr Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 Thanks Stryke69. All working fine now. Didn't want to fiddle with it incase it really was updating or something. Bit annoying that it was something I‘d done accidently.
