Why do head phones show up as stereo mic headset?

Hi all!

Running stir fry but have noticed the behaviour on CM7 as well. When I listen to music on regular 3.5 mm head phone they are always recognised as a stereo mic headset. Annoying becuse I can't use the blade's mic to answer calls - have to unplug headphones.

q1. Anyone else seeing this?

q2. Is there a fix?

There was a thread about the headphones and the adaptor in this forum.... ;) (4 pin to 3 pin adaptor?)

Do you mean the icon in the notification bar? - its always been like that
