Guest ipd98 Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 My A1 cannot be recognized on my PC, but I still can access malez recovery. Just wondering if I can restore nandroid backup files from Liquid E on my A1 coz it seems fitting my taste. Any help is highly appreciated!
Guest Master_T Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Why isn't it recognized?? It should be recognized by the acer tool even when in malez recovery. I suggest you uninstall all the liquid-related drivers and reinstall them. Secondly, if you're in malez, can't you just wipe and flash a custom ROM? If you don't want one of the new Gingerbread roms, may I suggest LCR-F? It's basically a cleanded up and sped-up version of the base froyo rom. Finally, I don't think a restore from a LiquidE is a good idea. Afaik, a nandroid backup is very deep, including the boot and system partitions, and I don't think those are compatible between A1 and E, especially the boot image.... BUT I could be WRONG on that, since I'm no expert on such matters, you'd better wait for a dev to clarify on this last point.
Guest ipd98 Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Thanks Master, my situation is ad follow: 1. I don't have nandroid backup for my A1. 2. I was using cm6.1.1 for 2 weeks. It is very responsive; battery drained is acceptable; 90 Mb memory left for fresh installation and stable. But, starting yesterday my A1 showed "system not responding" when reboot, and all the widgets were gone. So I decided to flash a bin 0808 bin. Unfortunately it went half way and failed. After that, my pc couldn't detect my A1. It did detect my A1, but have a boot loop on freshing system.img and boot.img. 3. After surfing from the web, find a Taiwanese slimmed down a liquid e official rom that fit all my taste and published on the web. 4. both liquid e and a1 are having same size of rom, but diff size of ram 5. if no hardware validation on nandroid backup, it should be safe for restoring on A1; just my thought. But i will follow your advice and find a nandroid backup for A1 from the web. Thanks again!

As I said, I'm not SURE it wont work with a "E" backup, but I once flashed a liquid E bin on my A1 by mistake and it refused to boot, had to reflash it. I would still try to wipe and install one of the "famous" ROMs (MIUI, LiquidNext, LCR-F) before trying more risky stuff since you still have a working recovery.
