Excuse my negativity, but what on earth is the point in this poll?

I really don't know where to begin...

Whether the SKATE kernel source is released or not (note, not the BLADE kernel source, though I understand the one may offer clues in developing for the other device) is something over which none of us have any control so humming and harring about whether it will happen strikes me as being a little, er... pointless? Obviously I'm eager that ZTE do come up with the goods, but whipping up frenzy is only likely to lead to more people getting chippy with the ZTE PR guy who posts on here, which ain't gonna help engaging the company

He's dead right on this one....

No point instigating a feeding frenzy via way of this pointless poll as the ZTE PR guy will get eaten by users who are demanding the source at this stage now...

I suggest to shut down this thread and lock it for the benefit of the community and to prevent any possible riots with the ZTE PR guy (he probably knows jack s**t when it comes to modding/hacking etc, and that is not his job really) - bear that in mind - all he does is delegate information fit for the public.

No more no less - so if nothing happens and people start attacking him then that's the end of it for the ZTE's presence on this forum.

And would make us look very bad!

The other point of view is that allowing ZTE to have a presence on this forum makes this forum look bad by association.

Uhmmm... ZTE voluntarily came on board through HCDRJacob and TomG... so how can it make this forum look bad by association?

To be honest its the other way round - public members potentially attacking a ZTE PR guy is BAD if nothing happens today!

whilst i don't agree with attacking the ZTE PR guy, to be fair it was him who started the frenzy with his "gingerbread is coming soon" thread and in typical marketing fashion he probably didn't even ask the developers if they were ready to upload by today.

at best this is in the wrong forum - as i doubt he even surfs the blade forum and the kernel will be for the skate.

No source code for the ZTE Blade is coming or was even promised. Code for the ZTE Skate is due and it MAY function on the ZTE Blade with some work.

This thread is off-topic for this forum and before it turns into another flame fest I'm locking it. Please follow discussions about the release of the ZTE Skate kernel code in the ZTE Skate forum.
