Guest Simon O Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Should mention that this is the 800MHz version of the ZTE Skate. No sign of any 1GHz models.. if they are even coming.
Guest supacook2k Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 definately crazy at that price when you can save £75 by buying it on orange and root it
Guest tilal6991 Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 They're being idiots. Soon an unlock solution will be developed and these will be made redundant.

Furious Gold will probably get it first (Shops will charge a minimum of £20 probably £25) if you are lucky afterwards. DC Unlocker might do it for £10 or less if you buy a dongle. (Dunno that they support ZTE phones though only datacards). If its done the same way as Huawei (Using the QFuse where you need a code to enter diag or download mode). It will be a total bitch without jtag.
Guest JasonLeeming Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 This is a total pricing fail.

Guest wrtease Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 (edited) dc unlocker do do zte mobiles they have just recently got the blade and orange sanfrancisco added to their list of unlocks. im a member . Edited September 1, 2011 by wrtease
Guest tillaz Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 (edited) you just have to laugh at those prices £166 for zte libra its just a blade/OSF. and for the zte skate are they mad £250 after VAT. no chance not with the same spec as the OMC... basically your paying £100 for unlock code lol. seriously... i mean if it woz msm8255 armv7 then ok but an extra £100 for unlock.... it wont sell ! Guest Hanks6 Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 (edited) i was actually looking forward to getting a Skate at as close to £150 as possible sometime this year (presuming it was a faster arm v7 cpu model) to replace my Blade. this is a fail for both price point and specification IMO. too many more appealing alternatives and at above £200 you have to be joking... the thing about the blade is it blew all the competition away at the price point. its frustrating cause the skate could do something similar at the 'comfortably below £200' level...the luxuriously large screen is a top value feature and with official 2.3 (and custom 2.3s) it could be a great experience, like a budget desire HD or galaxy. but ZTE absolutely have to get the faster, more modern flash compatible CPU version (seems increasingly dubious whether this even exists atm!) out soon and below £200 to start with. realistically networks should get the faster version asap and we'll see what happens with pricing and unlock options. then they could kick some butt at this price point. i'd definitely get one.
