Guest Simon O Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Retailer Clove.co.uk has announced that the ZTE Libra will be available on September 9th priced at £166.80 Source: http://www.unwiredview.com/2011/09/01/zte-skate-libra-and-tureis-get-priced-in-the-uk-will-be-out-this-month/
Guest Maxsas360 Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Price is massive for such specs
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 I think for this price you'll be better with a skate (199 euros in france ~= 175 £ :) )
Guest Stooby Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 At that price, Orange should still sell plenty of SF's (especially when they are so easy to unlock)
Guest Pondlife Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Anyone even heard of Clove.co.uk?
Guest Stooby Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 Anyone even heard of Clove.co.uk? Yes, they've been around quite a while.
Guest Ralph Martin Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 Anyone even heard of Clove.co.uk? I bought a Psion 3 from them years ago, if you are old enough to remember Psion...
Guest Chris Banks Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 Will be interesting if we get a ROM dump and see how it compares to the leaked version.
Guest ablackswan Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 I think for this price you'll be better with a skate (199 euros in france ~= 175 £ :) ) In france the blade costs 129€
Guest birdibird Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 In france the blade costs 129€ In Holland Blade costs €119
Guest unrandomsam Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Retailer Clove.co.uk has announced that the ZTE Libra will be available on September 9th priced at £166.80 Source: http://www.unwiredvi...out-this-month/ If we are lucky it will still use ar6000 (I think its more likely its broadcom though) - the latest 2.6.32 sources support broadcom (And there is a pre prepared config for brcm_blade)
Guest wbaw Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 Amazon have put their release date back to the 26th of September :( http://www.amazon.co.uk/ZTE-Libra-Free-Android-Smartphone/dp/B005CUJ60S/
Guest Sami Beck Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Has anybody bought one? You'd have to be mad to buy one at that price :P
Guest wbaw Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 You'd have to be mad to buy one at that price :P You would ... but somebody needs to buy one & dump the gingerbread rom from it.
Guest muller37 Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 Is this the same? http://www.amazon.co.uk/WayteQ-Libra-Android-Free-smartphone/dp/B005EL833Q/ref=pd_cp_ce_1
Guest wbaw Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 Is this the same? http://www.amazon.co.uk/WayteQ-Libra-Android-Free-smartphone/dp/B005EL833Q/ref=pd_cp_ce_1 that one comes with android 2.2, froyo. so it's not the one that we want.
Guest wbaw Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 http://www.clove.co.uk/zte-libra They're saying first stock available tomorrow for a Gingerbread Libra.
Guest ufoman Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 that one comes with android 2.2, froyo. so it's not the one that we want. Find ZTE Libra on Amazon and the description will also say 2.2. They're most likely wrong.
Guest wbaw Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 Find ZTE Libra on Amazon and the description will also say 2.2. They're most likely wrong. That was a different one (also on amazon) hungarian company selling it. It's available now & has been for a while. It is 2.2, they have screen shots & everything.

Guest wbaw Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 (edited) Huh... I just hope ZTE knows what to release ;d I know, their product names are confusing to say the least. From what I can work out the UK version of the ZTE Libra will be exactly the same internally as the Orange Sanfrancisco, but it will be sold sim free, network unlocked, zte branded, with a similar case to the Sapo a5 in portugal (slightly different case design to the sanfrancisco) & with Gingerbread. I might have got that wrong & I'm not sure that ZTE even know. Amazon has 2 versions listed, they list them both as Android 2.2, but maybe they're wrong, every other UK retailer lists it as 2.3. One of them is already on sale, £10 cheaper & looks like a grey import, that does seem to have Android 2.2, they have a lot of screen shots that appear to prove it. To make it even more confusing, they're selling ZTE Libras with Android 2.2, identical to the Blade, in some Asian countries & have been for a few months. Look at this thread to get confused even more: Edited September 22, 2011 by wbaw

Guest KonstaT Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 (edited) Just came across this. Unboxing video of ZTE Libra from clove.co.uk. It says on the video (around 3min) that Libra has Android 2.2.2 not gingerbread! What a great disappointment, I was waiting for a ROM dump from that device... edit. Also specs in http://www.clove.co.uk/zte-libra say 2.2.2 now. Edited September 29, 2011 by KonstaT
Guest onericardo Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 In Portugal we have this phone, named Sapo A5, since January +-. http://www.tmn.pt/portal/site/loja/menuitem.1ed531b0dc8102f2d0a8be30851056a0/?vgnextoid=e87e5d0ddabcc210VgnVCM1000005401650aRCRD&vgnextchannel=4b5b16f6f5dcc010VgnVCM1000005401650aRCRD# http://abertoatedemadrugada.com/2011/01/analise-ao-tmn-sapo-a5.html This Libra is just the release of this phone to the rest of the world. In my opinion, nothing new.
