I can confirm flashing this does not unlock the Monte Carlo :( I will dig some more and see whether I can come up with an algorithm.

did the guy who dumped this not say that he'd dumped it AFTER he'd installed Paul's SuperBoot?

yes, pretty much the same problem with the OMC dumps too. people are following instructions saying to root/clockwork first rather than just doing it using adb/fastboot.

although superboot only installs su and an Superuser.apk, doesn't change the boot image (including kernel) just a couple of files in /system

this is from a network locked phone (OP said above) just like are OMCs so cant really see it unlocking if we flash it.

couple of things... if it has SU and Superuser.apk its NOT STOCK

if it has super-boot installed its not even a full copy of the French ROM, superboot will replace the kernel with the one build for the OUK dump.... its not just a few files, its the WHOLE partition has been replaced with a slightly modified version of the OUK version....

yes i'm with you now, i was looking at the regular superboot.tar.gz sourcecode, but paul's superboot installer replaced the whole boot.img so no wonder the kernel's are identical. so we're back to square one :(

Flash superboot to the recovery partition rather than boot then boot the phone into recovery.. it'll run superboot then boot the OS which then you should be able to dump the stock boot.img. This is pretty much what Paul did originally using a custom superboot built with the kernel from a prototype Skate he had.
